My Respect to Hoppa

The guys is an absolute champion

Tryscoring, TrySaving, Try Assists and support play the guy has done it all so far this year

It was a masterstroke to release Lafai to secure Hoppa

Hes consistent at a high level in everything he does

And has the footy smarts which our halves are lacking

When I heard we were getting rid of Lafai for hoppa I was pissed. But to be honest he has proved me wrong and has been awesome.

I must admit i was his biggest critic on here. I thought he was a dud after what i saw at Parra but he has proved me wrong. Our best player so far this year.

That was his terms which were non negotiable.

Better we signed him than we didnt.

He will play finals on sundays

So, could his remarkable improvement from last year be him being at ease with himself now he can serve Sundays to God? Because you would think it was a different footballer out there.

perret is the close second, heavily under rated footballer.

He's a really clever football player.
He must be deceptive speed wise, as he looks like he's going nowhere, the next minute he's through a gap.
His God better be on our side when he sits out Sunday's.

Actually todays game marked an interesting (and worrying for other sides) milestone for Hoppa.

He's now starting to inject himself from the backline into attack, which is going to spell a world of trouble for opposing sides once he fine tunes that.

Form wise, he's in career best form at the moment, with a better strikerate than at Manly.

Some interesting stats:
Bulldogs - 6 tries from 8 games / 75% strike rate.
Manly - 14 tries from 22 games / 64% strike rate.
Parramatta - 7 tries from 38 games / 18% strike rate.

But more to the point, scoring a try in 5 games straight is his longest try scoring streak with any club.

I heavily chastised his move to the Dogs at the expense of Lafai, but now that he's here and the way he's performing, I could not be happier to have him in our side.

Lafai lost the will to play last year so Des found a new one ;)

I was actually really excited to see him come out on the field in round 1 as I didn't believe Hoppa had signed with us.

I don't know why but when we signed him I just had a gut feel he would do well. He had issues at Parra including not being paid as promised and no one can play well in those circumstances.

The test will be how he will go at centre because I'm sure Des wants to put Bmoz at fullback when fit. It's also easier to replace him on Sundays if he is in the centres.

Letting him do the Sundays thing probably makes him happy and also keen to make up for it in the games he does play. So Hoppa playing excellent in all but Sunday games is better than him playing crap in every match if made to play Sundays like at Eels. So ill take it. But i would think for sure he would be able to play a GF if we make it surely.
