I favour kicking to posts (ie: bombs as well as grubbers) than cross-field kicks in attack.
40/20's are key.
Grubbers in goal for the purpose of repeat sets should increase this year.
As should pressure from kick-chases.

no footy is about how much you can impact on a game, how often you turn a game on its head.

noone in their right minds would take hazem over sbw. Anyone who does is either basing it on loyalty and character and not on playing ability.

clubs are a business these days, they look for success. Lack of success = club failing. If sbw could bring success, and hazem can't then sbw > hazem.

the only reason we dont need sbw is because we'll probably be successful given the way we've recruited this year. but hell i'll trade hazem for sbw anyday of the week
I'll tell you a little story. In 1983 just after the League and Football Club's united a former lower grade coach went up to the head heirachy and said do you want to win a competition? He asked the question again and asked how badly you want to win it? He said find ways to invest in the money and buy Warren Ryan at all costs, Terry Lamb at all costs and any player Ryan wants at all costs. Bullfrog was ready to sack Glossop on the spot as Ryan wasn't coaching in 1983, but Ryan opted to coach in time for the 1984 season. Ryan cleaned out The Entertainers era in one swoop.

That 1980 side had 10 life members in the starting 13 (only Gearin, Brentnall and Coveney didn't get Life Membership) plus Cutler and Cassilles. The 1984 side would have 6 out of 13 who would be Life Members (3 Mortimer's, Folkes, Farrar, Lamb) plus Robinson on the bench. Lamb in 1984 was an import (not a clubman). We went all out to win that Premiership and dominate in the 1980's.

Football is now a two-way business. Players don't show sentiment and clubs shouldn't either.

We got into salary cap trouble because we paid too much money to keep the loyal clubmen (including some who were injury prone to the max) and not get rid of them to keep our topliners and invest in youth development.

Matt, we got into salary cap trouble because we were arrogant enough to think we would never be caught. We carried all those players in the 80's because the club really was the family club. Many of our top performers were actual or very nearly members of Peter Moore's family and two of our subsequent coaches his sons in law and our current coach his son.

That's ok if you are talking about a class racehorse where you play the odds but for a football club it was a disaster waiting to happen. The club got too close minded. Thankfully it appears to have broken out into a fully functional sporting organisation now. Noad, for all his faults, was part of that transformation. He was a limited man who went too far but he must have been facing tremendous opposition and infighting during his stay. A book by him would be interesting.

There is nothing saint like about the Dogs. They are a football team with all that implies. We forgive if we win but not if we lose. Its as simple as that.

look lets face it, all clubs rort the cap and i am definately sure we are still doing it.
it is common knowledge that the roosters players are paid in cash and some players even have bank accounts set up , not in their name and given a card to access cash from it. this is not a rumour but a fact.it has been going on for years. Morley was given a unit by Politis after his contract finished, which was part of his playing contract but of course it wasnt included.
we were just stupid enough to get caught

El Masri wouldn't be able to keep up with him.
He will be back on his try line using the resuscitator after running 50m sideways

I'd rather dummy to Holdsworth and pass the ball to Koups
