Is poasa top 30? I thought I read he was on a development or whatever the new term is for players outside the 30 that can only be selected after round 10 or whatever it was. Or has something changed?
I think they changed it so they can play from round 1. Well thats what the cap page says.

Development player contracts replaced by “Supplementary list”. $650,000 cap for at least four, maximum six players, paid $80,000, can play from Round 1.

At moment id have Taafe over Tracey for Rd1 at fullback because Taafe has been a NRL Fullback more than Tracey.. Id have Tracey in the backline as his utility value to cover several positions can be used if ever injuries during a game..

2. Halves either 6. Burton and 7. Sexton or 6. Drew and 7. Sexton with Burton in the centres
CC will prob start with Burton at 6 but if he doesnt fire after first 5-8 rounds we need to bite the bullet & play him at centre where hes a definite gun..

3. We have 3 genuinely great centres in Crighton & Burton (& Xerri has potential to get up to top level also)..

1. Taafe
2. Fox
3. Crighton
4. Xerri
5. Tracey
6. Burton
7. Sexton
8. King
9. Reed
10.?
11. Kik
12. Preston
13. Curran
14. Mann
15. Salmon
16. Hughes
17. Hutch?

Props are the issue.. also Mann and Salmon on bench maybe too light

Taaffe was halfback, not a fullback.

1. Tracey
2. Kiraz
3. Crichton
4. Xerri
5. Fox
6. Burton
7. Sexton
8. King
9. Mahoney
10. Hughes
11. Kikau
12. Preston
13. Salmon
14. Mann
15. Curran
16. Faamausili
17. Kautoga

Kautoga showed enough to say he deserves a crack. Tracey has speed, ball skills and toughness. The rest picks itself IMO. Hutchinson unlucky we already had the Sexman!

I didn’t think he played that bad? Give him an edge of fox, Critta and kiks and his running game will flow on from that. If the right side can generate some kind of attack it’ll only help burton
If you need a state of origin and Australian calibre backline to bring out your best, you are in trouble

Obviously some difficult decisions need to be made.

Here is what I would do, but I might re think it after the Sharks trial.
1. Taaffe
2. Kiraz
3. Critta
4. Tracey
5.Fox
6. Burton
7. Sexton
8. King
9.Mahoney
10. Hughes
11. Kiks
12. Preston
13. Curran

14. Mann
15. Salmon
16. Poasa
17. Knight

As a concussion sub 18th man, I would go for Skelton.

Xerri I would give hIm until about round 4 to see how he is progressing.

I wonder which side of the field Critta will play? Xerri played on the left yesterday but he did play right center for the sharks.

I think 2 speedsters on the left would be a waste, I'd rather see Critta use his skills to put the Fox away and Xerri combine with Kiraz on the right.

Re think of halves too for myself. Can’t have Burto and Hutch both starting. Both left footers, better to mix up for kicking game, Sexton to play one side
How about hutch and sexton

1. Taafe (if Tracey was fit I’d of had him).
2. Kiraz
3. Xerri
4. Critta
5. Jac
6. Burton
7. Sexton
8. King
9. Mahoney
10. Hughes
11. Kikau
12. Preston
13. Curran

14. Salmon
15. Mann

17. Kautoga

I could see Morrin or Samrani and Todd force their way in based on last trial.

Knight, Sutton on name alone could be but not by what I saw from knight and Sutton injuried.

How has no one got room for Skelton? He looked powerful and dangerous almost every time he touched the ball.
Skelton is a big unit who hits the line hard. However his pace is bordering on being pedestrian.
Unless he develops and moves to the back row, I dont see much future for him.

Will be a while before we settle on a team, need some checks next week because if anything Thursday showed that we have some hidden gems and some cap thieves.

I think this is close to the mark. Agree on Tracey. He would have been in pole position for the fullback spot for round if not injured. The fact Taaffe has trained and played well there on Thursday. Also makes it a more likely he will get the nod.
