I was surprised he didn’t score there. I couldn’t believe for a trial, how dedicated the Melbourne defence was.
That just shows how important preseason training is and clubs implementing strong work ethics. Storm have been known for that for years and the bright side of last night for me, is that we showed very good signs in that area. Some of the hits, particularly by Kautoga were impressive for a trial.

What did Hutch actually do last night though? Nothing remarkable I can remember, just like Burton. At least Burton setup Xerri though, who went very close to scoring and he almost got the ball over the line himself too.

This mind boggling view by some that Burton is hopeless all stems from the fact that he doesn’t “look” interested. Hutch touched the ball a lot last night, as did Salmon, so people think they were great. They were nothing special either. Did they create a linebreak or try? Nope. That was done by Mahoney, Wilson, Sexton/Papa/O’Neill and Heyward/Papa.
Burton has been hopeless for a long time, he will never be the premier playmaker that you Burton fans want him to be. All he has is a shitty bomb and a predictable show and go. He had Kikau on his outside and not once did he set him up for a line break and possible try, Sam Kasiano's ball playing skills would put Burton to shame, Burton is currently one of the most overrated and the worst 5/8th in the comp.

Yet numerous good to great ex-players agree with the Burton fans. Hmm who to believe, the niffnuffs on TK or footballing legends? Tough decision….

Wighton a decent kicker??? Haha ok.

Also, why is everyone putting Mann in their team without a single minute in a trial yet? It’s not like he’s good enough to be a certain pick.
Yes. I've seen enough of his kicking game to say that it's decent and was good enough to take Canberra to a GF.

As much as some don't want it Burton will get the 6. Burton like lots of players that have come to the Bulldogs (in recent years) haven't been given ideal circumstances to flourish. If he was performing like this under Bellamy at the Storm, fair play. Look at Nick Meaney. My sports teams are the Bulldogs and Manchester United in the EPL. Both are places where careers go to die. Drives me nuts. I need a top 8 out of the boys. It's the hope that kills ya

Terry Lamb thought Jacob Loko would be our superstar FB, I've lost count of how many useless player Joey Johns has anointed. He just isn't a good playmaker, the evidence is there for all to see, come back to me when Burto steers us to the finals.

The seven jersey is going to be a dilemma for CC the both have their positives and negatives I am leaning on Hutch for his kicking game and game management. Thoughts?
Sexy has the better kicking game than hutch

We need our #7 to do more of the kicking

I'm really getting sick of Burton's useless bombs

Terry lamb probably wasn't banking on '

On 2 January 2015, Loko was arrested and charged for high-range drink driving, with a blood alcohol level almost four times above the legal limit.[9]

In October 2015, Loko was caught with five capsules filled with ecstasy on his person at The Star casino. He was sacked by Canterbury as a result and didn't manage to make a single first grade appearance for the club.[10]

In most of the training sessions iv attended since Christmas - Mann has been in the fg squad - alternating between a ball playing 13 and dummy half. In some sessions guys like Knight, Curran, Edwards, Salmon, Morrin spent time in the reggies squad.

Whether or not "good enough to be picked" runs second to who Ciraldo deems as required to be picked - havent been to training for over a week - things may have changed - was surprised Curran spending time with Reggies.
As fans we might think there's postions of for grabs but the reality is Ciraldo as coach has pretty much already made up his mind and outside of a certain player having an absolute stinker and another having a blinder he probably isn't going to change his mind just a few weeks before kick off. I asked this before but have Sexton and Hutcho actually run sessions as the halves pairing? I don't think a team without Burton @ 6 has been been considered at this point regardless of how poor he actually is.

My bad, I'm half asleep & read your comment as dummy half run. That's on me.

Burton played shit though & was one of our worst players. If you thought that he had a good game then you are a bad judge.
Haven't really seen anyone say he played a good game, but I definitely don't think it's as bad as being said on here. He played 40mins in a trial, it's expected that all of our players will be a little rusty / timing a little off.

Fuckin A! People on here crying because he didn’t play as if it was a semifinal. Trials mean fuck all as far as how the season will unfold.
