Why in several articles in the last few days has Flanagan had to come out in the media saying he wants the job but he hasn't been contacted by Gould or anyone at the club ?

I'm concerned these reports could turn Gould (and others) off hiring Flano also.

When Barrett was sacked I thought Gould said something about needing to sort our long term coach quickly but I could be wrong but surely it is something we need to decide and announce quickly as sponsors will want to know and so will any players we're chasing.

Gus said we need an experienced coach and I truly believe that. Just hope he doesn't change his mind.

Only negative with Flano is what he does with his son but if he can't get the best out of Kyle then who can plus he's already stated that he would pick the best halfback whether that be Kyle or someone else we sign.
It’s a done deal.i think Phil new exactly who he wanted should Barrett struggle this year.

Because we aren't planning on hiring Flanno. Gus wants a Bulldog. Potter doesn't want the gig, so Braith Anasta is front runner for the job.
He wants a Bulldog and experienced coach. There are only 2 at the moment.
Ricky Stuart and Justin Holbrook.

There has been multiple coaching opportunities for Flanno that he's never been this active about in the media. It's like he is trying extra hard for the media not to find out he's already been approached.

I just hope we don't go Freddy. Either Flanno or Green would be good, but please got not Freddy.
Very true Malla, but I'm certain its because he wants to look after his boy, and if Dad is here coaching flamingo our club will only lose out, Simply because a coach can make a player particularly a no7 look good at the expence of the team and that's what will be his objective

I won’t be disappointed if neither of them get the job, I am keen to see where potter gets them by the end of the year.
He has stated plenty of times he only wants to coach them this year and not beyond

Yeah well it wouldn’t be the first time a fat pay check has changed someone’s mind, without even looking at the side he could potentially coach next year.

“The worst kept secret in the NRL…” I can almost guarantee you that line will be somewhere in an article when we announce Flanno.

IF we are going with Flanno, I would much prefer he get in there now and start. I just see this period if we wait until next year to start as a waste of time. They may have given up but playing wise I haven't. I want to watch competitive games from our team NOW!
Would you want to take it over mid year with the way we’re going and having not coached for years? That’d be unnecessary pressure on him i reckon.

Just been watching Titans V Broncos minus Reynalds and it tells me that a good half is a must if we are going to succeed, I just hope that we don't sign S Flannagan untill his son is well and trully gone.

Also highlights how big a risk Areyn is. Barely going to get half a season per year out of him. When you bank on one half you are screwed when they don’t play. It’s like when ennis used to be out for us and we could never win without him. Need a fully balanced team.

I believe that a club is always gong to need a half decent back up in every position particularily in specialists position like half.
Unfortunately we don't appear to have a (excuse the punt) half decent half., nor a half decent backup half.
BTW, for those thinking about Hass, he won the game for the Broncos, because IMHO his charges eventually fatigued the Titans so badly that in the end they had nothing left.
