This.

When every fullback struggles on the night down the train line end due to a mix of a Southerly and lack of lighting u would think people would understand...

Even will Kennedy who has a frigging 100% catch rate almost dropped a couple and Papalii didn't even go close.

Anybody who knows Taafe would know he is safe as a bank at the back.
Problem is CC went with Perham
Last year. We all know the reason was that he was louder and there were too many quiet players in the team. However Averillo showed what he could do and it was a big call that proved to be wrong. He also persisted with it way too long. If Perham had been dropped after 5 rounds we all would have probs been ok with it but it took 10 or so where the season was already almost over till he realised he was wrong.
This year Taafe has not given us any faith he is the man. He has dropped bombs, but also he has not been hitting his targets with our attacking backline plays, he has also
Not been following up in the middle for example when hutch went through there was no one there. Someone like Taafe should have been on his shoulder so that break turns into
Try. Taasfs confidence also looks shot for me that means he needs to go to cup and earn his way back in. Hopefully Tracey is fit because Crichton seems to still be a bit injured and for fb you need to be 100%. If neither are ready to go fb needs to be Wilson.

Spot on about Taffe. He has the potential to be electric but has not executed his role in our attacking sets correctly. Seems to run into the tackle rather than pass to outside speed men such as Addo-Carr. Plus doesn’t seem to be backing during breaks.

He is a confidence player and given his confident is down, needs to go back to reserves to build it back up. Happy for him to get back into the team once he proves himself but can’t risk 2-3 weeks of shakiness otherwise game over.

Taffe has an off night and people writing him off…why don’t you see how he goes after a few rounds before making judgement
Fair call. Problem is, in the past a lot of ‘off nights’ turned into off months. Let’s hope this isn’t the case with Taffe.

Hope the have Taaffe out on the field all week catching huge Burton bombs, build that confidence back up, can’t go in against Parra with our FB down on confidence .. JT also needs to show him some old Baa videos and talk with him about support play .. when players break through the first player beside them should be the FB ..

I think Crichton would serve us better in the spine

Yep I think most fullbacks have an off day under the high ball.
Ben Barba went through it in 2011. Dylan Edwards in 2019.

Unless it happens consistently week after week it’s normally a simple fix.

Would still like him to push up in support though. The Hutchinson break in Friday should have been converted.

Although to be fair it’s the first line break he has made in his career so it probably caught his support players by surprise

That's what bothers me. Support play is still non-existent. No matter which coach or players we have it still hasn't been addressed.

2 rookie coaches. 3 if we're going back to Pay. There was 1 coach we could of got that wouldn't of allowed stuff like that to slide.

Crighton needs to train Burton on how to get good ball to his outside men, if Ciraldo isn't going to

Anybody that knows Taaffe knows he's not good enough to be a starting fullback...

You'll give it a shot..

If he doesn't settle in quick, or rack up some line breaks and try assist he'll lose his spot.

Tracey will most likely line-up in 1 for NSW cup.

Pretty confident CC knows what the plan is.

Come Tuesday 4.00 o'clock I am not expecting changes, maybe a swap or 2 between bench and starting players.
As for Taaffe, if CC was happy with his 1st trial he will also be there at fullback.

Yeah pretty much and what he went with most of pre season.

Question is if he starts with Salmon or Curran at lock. Salmon really put his hand up for a starting spot.

And the bench.. Morrin stacked a claim, Mann with be there as will Hughes. leaves a spot for Curran/Salmon.

The problem with Taffe is he often looks good/moves well, but rarely executes well. This was the same with Perham.

Ciraldo is blinded by players looking good in training runs but who don't produce outcomes in real games.

Also we can’t ever seem to straighten the attack. Sideways, sideways , farkin sideways.

I watched the knights last week and Jack Cogger dug into the line and straightened the attack on his first touch. The outside backs in defence stopped sliding and all of a sudden they had defensive decisions to make.

He might of learned that off N Cleary …

Burto has no idea how to straighten the attack. But surely, surely , surely he can be taught to do that ??
