Matty Johns said on late show that he would move Burton to left centre. Said he's a natural ball runner, but is weighed down by thinking of what he needs to do for his team as a half.

Burtons critics on here like myself have said he plays ordinary when he thinks. You just want him running strong lines and reacting to defence.

He thinks the world is both flat & round at the same time. I think that he’ll play better the less that he has to think. Play him at left centre.

it is stupid for people to think the assistant would change the halves combination after game 1 that he worked on and prepared in the pre season.
You can add his first choice fullback to that as well probs.

Yep looking back at one of his games for Panthers at centre, he changed his line while the ball was in flight to him, very difficult to do and shows how good a ball runner he is.

It's pretty simple really, having Burton outside Kikau and Crichton (if he's FB) would give Burton plenty of extra time and space. Thats why I hope Tracey plays left edge 6.
Very easy for Burton and Tracey to switch deep in our own end for Burton to take long range kicks.

I’d play Crichton right centre & Burton left centre. Would be the best centre combo in the NRL.

whats the actual point of changing our halves pairings after 1 round after a whole pre season of prepping them, when we had barely any ball, lets be logical here

Because they shouldn’t have been our halves to begin with. Also Sexton trained with them all pre-season.

Well unless he changes Burtons style of playing in the halves - we are in for a world of pain this year. He is a centre and even at rep level, where did they pick him? In the centres of course. He might want to play in the halves but it isn’t his natural position. Hopefully the coach, makes tough decisions based on getting wins.

Ceraldud would look more of a dud if he changes his half combo after the first game, even though he should have never picked Burton in the halves after what we have seen in the last 2 years.

This will come across as if he has no idea what he is doing (which is true anyway)

Unfortunately Burton will be in the halves for the first 10 games this year if not for the entire season.

How have 47 people voted to keep Burton in the halves. We know Ciraldo will but surely it's clearly not going to work! He is an absolute pedestrian in that position. He is a rep level centre and we are trying to force him be something he isn't.

I don't know why people are criticising individual players. It does matter how good the player is they are going to look bad in our team at the moment. Burton looked great at the Panthers, Kikao looked great and Taaffe looked a lot better with the Rabbits because they were established teams with a solid base for them to perform in. The team made them look better.

The same will happen to Critta, he won't have the same opportunities in our team at the moment. Its not until we establish the dicipline and we begin to click that we will start to see the best of players. I reckon even Cleary would struggle in our team at the moment with no go forward.

But when we do click and become consistent suddenly all our players will become the best in the world in everyones eyes lol. You could see this with the first trial where everyone was praising all the players and then bagging them a week later.

We have the individual players though we lack a definite half and a prop or two. But we are build a good base with a solid back row a couple of specialist hookers and set of fast backs. Though we have to sort out who will give us the most at fullback. But the potentials there. Our main problem is dicipline and committment.

Very true but we can do better with we've got, NRL is very different to school pick up football where a player would/could play in any position.
At the NRL level each position is different and requires a specilist player, Every man his dog, cat, pet mouse and even his nagging wife can see that Burton at 5/8 is not working, except CC of course.
It looks as though we could have 3 world class centers on our books, if Xerri can reproduce the form he showed prior to the ban, Chriten, Burton and Xerri, but they will win us jackshit the way we're going

The sooner they realise the experiment has failed the sooner we can start to finally move forward.

They will need to decided what looks worse for their egos and that’s leave Burton where he is and refuse to concede or move him and confirm they were wrong all along.

Only one option offers some redemption and that’s the move but that makes them look the worst.

Tommy Turbo gets picked at centre for the blues but that’s not necessarily his best position, so it means crap where they get selected at rep level

Sexton, gives much more options in attack. His defense was OK last year. Flannagan was question on the merits on Sloane on the weekend. Basically responded that he adds dimension to their attack has defensive issues that he is working on. Goes out & scores 3 tries. This is the difference between the good coaches that CC has not worked out. Defensive is important , but must also have an effective attacking system. The good teams puts fatigue in opposition defense lines, thus making it easier for them to defend. At the moment CC mindset to the defend a win instead of looking to win with attacking plans.

Was disappointed with Xerri not being selected in 1st grade, but watching him last week he still needs more time NSW cup . Showed some glimpses of promise.
