It’s two games in and serious question marks remain with our forward pack.
Are we capable of turning it around or are we a marquee or two up front short.
I have concerns about the Waddell love fest by the coach seriously Doorey should of been picked this week, had a solid few games that he played on debut last year.
Our pack really needs someone to lead from the front or again our backs will struggle to create anything.
Hooker all these years without a proper one and our dummy half service is terrible.

If you build a time machine - and go back about 17 years, you might have a better chance than seeing this forward pack spark.

But in all seriousness - hopefully when Thompson is back. was showing good form at the back end of last year.

I agree Doorey should get a chance. Napa should be dropped. Hopefully Thompson coming back helps lift the pack.

People also need to bear in mind we've played against two of the strongest packs in the comp so far and giving them repeated six agains has compounded the issue of our weak pack.

Hopefully we can start off better against Brisbane, not get raped by the six agains and not be on the back foot as much.

We're missing a leader in the forward pack.
Our most experienced middle forward (Napa) is playing like a cat, Thompson is suspended, Jackson is flogging himself tackling for 80 minutes and subsequently isn't offering much in attack.
Elliott has looked strong on the edge though which is a good sign.
We desperately need a hooker and dominant middle forward to lead the pack.

Nasheed here,
Why not get some of the Local grandparents who arrived from Lebanon in the 70s, the struggles they faced, the lack of resources they had in coming to Australia.
The heartache of leaving their homeland, torn apart from war, and the struggle to first face bigotry, and later economic suppression from the locals.
Despite this, they put food on the table for the kids and built constructions, fruit shops, fashion stores, food outlets and labourers to rise up and gain respect, even to the point where our club itself is Lebanese managed now.

If that doesn’t inspire the boys to fire up, what will?

When Thompson is back, we should look like...

8 Thompson
9 JMK
10 Hetherington
11 Elliott
12 Doorey
13 Jackson

14 I think should be Hoppa
15 Ogden
16 Atoni
17 Waddell

That pack is solid with JMK being the main weakness. Need to get B Smith next year and one big body upfront that can offload.

Give it a rest Nasheed on all things Lebanese.
European migrants came here with nothing post the war as well documented and made a life, Australians, Indigenous and Polynesians have had their own struggles and made a life, we’ve all had issues past and present - these boys get paid a lot of money to play a sport they love with their mates and blessed with physical athletic ability, how hard is it really to fire up? If they can’t, it’s TBs job to ignite it or find someone else that is up for it.

Ok get the Europeans involved. No issues there.
Just stories of inspiration form people who had it hard.
Other than that, blare up Tupac before the game, or limp Bizjjits cover of Metallica and sanitarium.

If our current pack had 60% of the possession they would look like world beaters.

Set completion with the ability to spread the ball a bit more with more kicks in play maybe from the wingers back in.

Our Leagues club revenue is bigger than the Lebanese economy and if you feel inspired by those stories fantastic, but that is an Australian story the same for all immigrants who helped built this nation . They need to get the Ricky Stuart white board out and make it clear that "team performance" not just individual performance will dictate their next contact.
