Opinion What's with Ciraldo and Gus not approaching Panthers players until they decide to leave ?

How do you know we arent approaching them before they announce it? Also its not like we dont get enough penrith players. We have the most ex panthers of any club

@Flanagun @04 Dreaming @TheSexDogs @Nasheed didn't Gus offer Tino shares in a pub when he wasn't really expressing much serious interest in leaving the Titans? To say they aren't really interested in Panthers players is a nice gentle let down if the bid fails.
You’d blame Gus for a fart in Jobel’s even if he wasn’t there ..

I remember something about Brothfield conning info about pub shares out of old Laundy, not sure I’ve seen anything about Gould offering Tino shares in a pub !

Also they didn’t say they weren’t interest in Panthers plays, they said they wouldn’t purposely poach them, but if any were shopping around they’d certainly be open to speaking with them ..

And you call yourself a gun … gun BS pusher maybe ..

Would be interesting to know if the Panthers played by exactly the same rules when they recruited Alamoti and Tanner

Doubt it

1. Shows he has integrity in his approach. If we go sniffing around players trying to agitate a release or whatever then we out a target in ourselves.
2. If you’re the player then it shows the club can appear shifty in recruitment or trying to move a player on (the other side once you’ve signed) can just give a suss vibe. Make players weary of wanting to even come here.
3. Do we really want players who contemplate holding their current club to ransom to either milk more cash out of them or come to us and do it to us a few years down the track. It’s a red flag for me.
4. I don’t see a problem with leaving the door open and let the player want to walk through it rather than ask them. Shows they want to come to the club

Just more panther circle jerking nonsense. Ciraldo had already poached Crichton before he even signed with us.

Not that I want Luai in particular but I'm a bit over Ciraldo and Gus refusing to approach Panthers players until they confirm they are leaving the Panthers. Ciraldo even stated he hopes all the Panthers players remain together. WTF ? Who is he working for again ?. He can't have a foot in both camps. Is he trying to remain on their good side in case he ever needs to return there after being unsuccessful with us ? Maybe this attitude cost us Lenui. Maybe a player needs an actual offer in dollar terms (exact amount) BEFORE he decides it's worth leaving. Our coach should be ruthless in his decision making and maybe this is another example of Ciraldo being a soft cock - the type players fail to respect.
Maybe there are honorable men left around the world and Ciraldo is one of them !!!

It's a soft landing for the True Believers when they miss out on a target.

They've showed with Tino who had no real desire to leave Titans and still threw more than the kitchen sink at him.

That was Flanagun's boyfriend Laundy, not Gus, that ran his mouth about a preposterous proposal just to get himself some free media attention.

What you and your colleagues fail to acknowledge is that Haas, Tino etc re-signed months before they were allowed to negotiate with other clubs. So we or any club can't be deemed to have "missed out" on a player we weren't allowed to negotiate with..

Who really CARES??? Who would you rather have? Crichton, Kikau, and Burton? Or Alamoti and Tanner? Maybe Panthers can put in another dastardly offer to RFM, Hayze Perham or Sutton while they're at it... :tearsofjoy: "Oh, NOOOO! They stole our dregs!!!"

What connection does Ciraldo have with Gold Coast? And if none, WHY would he have a "gentlemens' agreement" with them? Irrelevant toa discussion pertaining to Ciraldo and Penrith...

100%. The Dogs landed on the better side of that equation yet the @DebbieDowners just can’t help but find a problem for every solution :-).

No club is going to let their top players go to the market if they want to retain them.

The media is full of baseless speculation, because journos need clicks to keep their jobs.
