In 2011, the NRL farewells:

Darren Lockyer
Shane Tronc
Alan Tongue
Michael Hodgson
Andrew Ryan
Preston Campbell
Brad Meyers
Mat Rogers (lol)
Clinton Toopi
Troy Thompson
Adam Woolnough
Adam MacDougall
Ben Rogers
Chris Hicks
Chris Walker
Carl Webb
Paul Whatuira
Shane Elford
Frank Puletua
Luke Stuart
Rhys Wesser
Mark Gasnier
Daniel Conn
Mark Riddell
Simon Dwyer (possible)
Todd Payten

Some decent and quality names in there. Just wanna congratulate them all on their long careers and achievements, and hope that they are successful post-football - especially those who have been forced to retire early.

If you'd like, let's reflect on some of the good & bad times/plays/tries etc. of the aforementioned players. Provide videos if possible.

Darren Lockyer - Absolute legend
Shane Tronc - Was good for a few seasons
Michael Hodgson - Surprised he lasted that long
Andrew Ryan - Much love to the bobcat <3
Mat Rogers (lol) - LOLL
Brad Meyers - Pretty decent player, will miss the ranga
Preston Campbell - Another legend, and an inspiration to the game
Carl Webb - LOL
Frank Puletua - Eh, he still plays?
Rhys Wesser - Was dynamic at his peak, absolutely freakish, sadly he stayed a few seasons too long
Mark Gasnier - LOL au revoir ****
Daniel Conn - ??? is he that old? Never rated him
Simon Dwyer (possible) - Very sad end, if it does end
Todd Payten - LOL never rated him at all

Conn, Dwyer and Webb forced into retirement due to injury. Good luck to all those post-football, especially the 3 mentioned.

Luke Stuart is also retiring. An absolute Souths legend in an era where there was no success - he didn't shirk the hardwork and never let his teamates down. The most humble person you could meet. He will be farewelled on Aug 19th against the Cowboys and I'm certain all NRL members are able to get in for free. I will no doubt shed a tear on the night - he didn't deserve some of the **** the other players dished up at times and didn't deserve to do his ACL in Round 6 and go out the way he is going.

Shermy is BunnyJnr? Dammit, we need an 'announcement thread' when people change their names.

Lot of quality names on that list. Few average ones too.

I heard on radio today MacDougall debuted 11 weeks before Lockyer but has played like 158 games less because of injury (also 20 something weeks drug suspension too I think) Interesting.
