Do you want to show me where I said 'Liverpool will be down and out for the next 5-10 years?'. Don't sensationalise to favour your point. Erm, you are an idiot mate.

Keep trying to put Arsenal down, it's only giving me more ammunition against you.
Arsenal don't have the petrol in the tank to make it through to May. They had the best run in last season and blew it. They need to start beating the other high flyers on a regular basis, which they don't. Fabregas is likely to be off to Barca in the summer and they need him on the pitch. Without Fabregas Arsenal only win 50% of matches.

So say they finish 2010/11 without a trophy and Cesc leaves for Barca? Does Wegner still get to troll out the rebuilding crap? And what of next year if they don't win again? How long does he get to "rebuild". Arsenal have one of if not the best squad in my eyes but they simply don't have a title winning keeper. That is not just my opinion but it is the opinion of many respected journalists.

Look lad, to be honest I would love nothing more than to see Arsenal win the title over Salford Utd but they don't have the cattle to win either the EPL or CL this year at least. Chelsea have two games against Utd coming up and if they win at home and nick a point away in my humble opinion it will once more be a two horse race.

He is a class act but sadly Barca is his only calling point if and when he does leave.

The Fulham match was one of those scrappy affairs that they simply had to win at all costs. Stoke at home you would think should be another 3 points which would see Kenny take 10 from the past 12 points....Chelski away after that! :p:p

LIVERPOOL last night turned down a stunning transfer request from Fernando Torres.

The Anfield outfit also threatened to report Chelsea to the Premier League for allegedly "tapping up" the Spanish striker.

They claim Blues went to Torres and his agents to set up a deal before making their £40million bid. Yesterday's high drama also saw:

# Liverpool snub a new offer of £42.5m plus hitman Daniel Sturridge.

# Torres tell Liverpool that he wants a transfer - only for the club to reject his request.

# Kop sources admit a £50m cash offer may change their mind.

# Hitman Luis Suarez join the Reds for £23m from Dutch outfit Ajax.

Liverpool believe that Chelsea have done an 'Ashley Cole' by speaking to the Torres camp without permission.

A senior Anfield source said: "It's clear Fernando has had his head turned and Chelsea have 'previous' for that sort of thing, don't they?

"Ashley Cole springs to mind and it looks like they've been at it again here."

Sky Sports can reveal Chelsea increased their offer for Torres by £2½m yesterday and threw Sturridge, 21, into the mix.

And Chelsea intend to keep up the pressure, with a Blues insider saying: "Liverpool don't want to sell but a lot depends on the player's wishes."

There is also a belief that Liverpool's stand could also be swayed if Chelsea up their offer to £50m.

Spanish hitman Torres, 26, has told the club he wants to join Chelsea, who are offering £200,000-a-week.

A pal of Torres said: "He believes it's the best thing for himself and Liverpool. He wants to be part of a team capable of competing at the highest level."

Liverpool have worked tirelessly to persuade Torres to stay since Chelsea's initial £40m bid.

And, last night, a club statement insisted: "Fernando Torres submitted a transfer request which has been rejected by Liverpool.

"Fernando is under long-term contract and the club expect him to honour the commitment he made when he signed the agreement."

But while the battle over Torres rumbled on, Liverpool finally signed Uruguay World Cup striker Suarez, 24, after Ajax accepted an increased offer following talks in Amsterdam.

Suarez, who will sign a five-year contract, said: "This is a dream come true for me."

Maybe this is true...

Fowi said:
What Chelsea did was illegal no matter which way you look at it. Chelsea have set up an meeting with Torres and his management without the permissions of Liverpool.

Chelsea have offered Torres a contract and Torres has agreed personal terms with Chelsea if we accepted the bid for him.

But the fact is that Torres is contracted to us, Chelsea didn't contact our club nor make any enquiries before setting up any meetings with Torres and his management.

And Torres will leave the club definitely at the of the season

dalglish and lfc have to stick by their guns and reject all offers this transfer window

knowing he has to stay will soon bring him back down to reality, because he's not there at the moment, bad form nando, a classless act, betrayal, betrayal, betrayal - but you still gotta stay and take it on the chin, whatever flak comes your way

Liverpool's Fernando Torres told Stevie G first: Sorry pal but I’m off

FERNANDO TORRES informed one man at Anfield of his decision to leave Liverpool BEFORE he handed in his transfer request ... the skipper Steven Gerrard.

Torres, edging closer last night towards a £50million move to Chelsea, was desperate to let his team-mate know before he heard it via official channels.

Gerrard welcomed Torres with open arms when the Spaniard arrived on Merseyside in 2007. And Torres felt he owed Gerrard the courtesy of face-to-face talks.

Ironically, Chelsea have twice seriously courted Gerrard, who looked certain to switch to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2005 before opting at the 11th hour to stay on Merseyside.

Torres’s desire to leave will be a hammer blow to Gerrard, who believed the pursuit of Uruguayan hit-man Luis Suarez signalled a brighter future at Anfield.

Liverpool rejected Chelsea’s initial £35m bid for Torres on Friday, but sources at the club say he will be a Chelsea player by the time the transfer window closes at 11pm tomorrow if the champions up their bid to £50m.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has made a personal plea to 26-year-old Torres not to turn his back on Anfield.

But a pal of the Spanish striker has told People Sport he considers his time there to be over.

And the source added: “The motive for Fernando to leave Liverpool is not money but football.

“He wants to win titles and, at this moment, it is not clear that he can do that at Liverpool.”

Torres, whose transfer request was rejected on Friday, has been offered a four-and-a-half-year deal at Stamford Bridge and a basic salary of not far short of £200,000 a week – £90,000 a week more than his current pay packet on Merseyside.

Chelsea cannot afford to wait. The Champions League is the trophy they covet most of all and Torres will be eligible to play in it for them only if he signs by tomorrow night’s deadline. He would still be eligible even though he has played in the Europa League for Liverpool. But if Chelsea were also to sign Benfica defender David Luis, they would not be able to play both.

Chelsea sources believe that Torres’s decision on Friday to ask for a move means a Merseyside farewell is inevitable.

Torres said soon after arriving at Anfield that he felt part of the fabric of both the club and the city and his transfer request is seen by many on Merseyside as an act of treachery, especially with the hated Chelsea waiting to snap him up.

Fan websites and message boards were awash with anti-Torres feeling yesterday.

Security has been beefed up around Torres with club officials worried fans may vent their anger on the star.

Liverpool maintained on Friday that the player was not for sale, but that stance appeared to have softened last night, with club insiders saying Chelsea would have to “substantially increase their offer”.

That is seen as a clear signal that the Spaniard can go once the bidding reached £50m.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich may call Liverpool’s bluff with a £40m bid, suspecting that they would accept that figure rather than hang on to a disaffected player.

Torres – currently in Spain where he took that pleading call from Dalglish – has told close friends that once-mighty Liverpool face a long road back before they can properly compete with Manchester United and Chelsea for the big prizes.

Carlo Ancelotti insisted last night there was “no change” in Chelsea’s pursuit of Torres after seeing his side draw 1-1 at Everton to earn an FA Cup fourth round replay.

The Chelsea boss refused to answer questions on the matter, simply saying: “There is no change.”

Asked whether he’d be happy if Chelsea were not able to sign anyone in the January window, he added :”I am always happy because the sun is shining.”

Meanwhile, Frank Lampard last night told Torres: We’d welcome you with open arms.

Asked about the possible arrival of the Spanish ace, he said: “Players of the top, top level who are world class will always help your squad.

“It remains to be seen what will happen – but it will always be welcomed by us.”

As Torres waits to make the switch, Lampard says Chelsea have not given up on the title. He added: “We have had a bad run but we will still give everything.

“I think we can fight on all fronts this season.”

Just feels like a knife stabbed and twisted in the back of all us LFC supporters. A month ago he says his head and heart is with us and then just wants to **** off. We will continue to rise with or without him. He will end up like another Owen.
