The news said Eels want to offload hoppa and we are the club keen to pick him up. Said the dogs are waiting for them to finalise his contract payout or something before they pounce.

If he's cheap it's a decent uograde on Perrett and no worse than Lafai if you play him at centre.

While Hoppa was shocking at fullback for the Eels he was also surrounded by a pretty poor roster.

I would still not change B Morris from fullback for him.

That said I like the idea of going for Hoppa at no more then 400k a year or like 300k in cap.

The reasoning is that I believe he can be a very good winger or even centre.

He would not be required to make anywhere near as much by himself with us. He could finish some things the likes of our pack or the Morris bro's create. To use a typical line "Under Des" I think he would find his old form again. He would be motivated, excited, refreshed and if we think back to what he DID produce for Manly we know he has it in him. He is not Hayne. He is not Inglis. He could be a very good winger/finisher or centre. A department we should certainly address.

I would be very happy to see B Morris at fullback with Rona and J Morris locked in 2 and 3 with either Lafai, Hoppa, Perrett providing 4,5 and cover. That said if Perrett is planing to retire or head off to UK then Hoppa is not the worse replacement and someone I'm confident we can get some quality out of.
