With so many on here death riding Woods out of our club I thought I would share the below information. Stats are for 8 of the top rated props in the game. You will see that Woods is not going as bad as people might think.
You have to remember that if we let him go we will have to replace him and the prop market is hot. Boyd and Paulo just got over $650k each and they play for 35 minutes.

Now there are a lot of other stats as well but these are important stats for the middle guys.

I think he is not the worst out there and we are crazy to let him go considering we have lost Kasiano and Graham recently in the same position. Our prop depth is no way as good as it used to be.

The only problem I have with him is he gives away silly penalties... also plays like he is not interested... not sure his heart is with the Bulldogs

Most of the nuffies on here are just repeating what is said on Facebook. The only downside to Woods is he is taking up to much of the cap.
Just think who will fill his spot. Taulau? Fualolo? Tolman?

I wrote in another thread - if Woods goes, what will be the strength of the middle forwards we have left. Fualolo and Tollman injured. Klemmer cant be expected to hold the middle by himself. Do we have any decent middle forwards in ISP? Woods definitely not worth what we are paying at the moment, but he could be ok if there were players backing up to run off him. Any way what is the alternative for the rest of the season if he goes now which looks like happening?

It would definitely cause a rift especially because klemmer was a bulldogs fan from way back.

Foran should be the number one player to be offloaded but there’s probably no takers. I don’t know if we need to offload Woods. Surely we just need to get him to stop that annoying habit of backing into the defence and looking for the offload? If he ran harder and was getting fast play the balls I doubt there would be many complaints. Our young forwards are just as prone to mistakes so the team won’t necessarily be better by just offloading Woods. You could use his salary elsewhere I guess but I don’t like the perception we’ll get from players about reneging on contracts

You make a good point about the reneging perception.
We might be gaining an unwanted stigma of been a place where as a player this club will not be your only one in a season.

Unfortunately the seasons gone for us anyway. I think we should start giving reserve grade some trial games .

He has been pinged for a bunch of play the ball penalties - which frustrates the fuck out me - but it’s funny how nobody else in the same games seems be getting called for doing the exact same fucking thing...

That said, he should have cleared it out of his game after the first fucking penalty
