Yeah, it was definitely a rehash. I think people just expect too much though. They tried to go in a whole new direction with original interesting things in the Prequels and they were terrible, so instead Abrams is going for fan service. Big flashy lights, big explosions, and a story line that's familiar. It may be a cheap way of doing it but it works for most.

Oh Yep I agree.. Those prequels could've been so much better.. Gee the potential was huge..The Clone Wars were what they should've focused on..Lucas was just too wrapped up in special effects..And Anakin's fall in Ep.III was just too quick.. But again..Abrams and Kasden did a good job reviving it all..
ps I think it would've been more interesting if Anakin was about 15 when they found him..maybe if he was a wayward orphaned youth who was a really good thief..because of his force abilities.. Just a thought..

Those books were awesome it actually made logical sense in how they followed on rather then just rehashing episode IV really was a good read
