I'll allow it against the knights.

Only a matter of time before it bites us on the ass.

I agree, that was the wrong time to do it. But the tactic itself has merit.
We haven't concede a try from it yet, teams are comfortable defending their line, you don't have to be back 10 and you have an extra defender because your fb can play up in the line, and we've gotten a couple back.

The only short drop out that has worked was the kahu fail when he picked it up, otherwise, it's just been pointless

The only science I can put behind this is that even if they get the ball our line is set from the next play. Less chance of a staggered line in defence. Other than that it's just madnesss

Well yea, if you continue to do it, sooner or later someone is going to score on you, but if you've gotten possession multiple times when the opposition should be attacking ? You may have prevented 5 tries from being scored.

no there has been a few others, its a good idea and only gives up 25 metres for a chance at the ball but there needs to be a compete everytime

It's actually a very good option. Other teams have caught onto it.

Yeah, teams have caught on and are setting up blocks for it. If only refs would call it, we could milk some penalties off it.

I have no problem with it.
I just think they should mix it up a bit.
Kick both sides. Also short and straight. The bullet toward the touch line is also worth the odd go.
As long as they are practicing them and it's not off the cuff.

TBH, even our not short drop outs are generally pretty short, so we aren't giving up a whole lot in doing it.

As others have said, our defence usually looks pretty good when we're on our own line anyway so we're better off there than putting it out say 30m and staggering our defensive line. Think its actually come off for us 3 or 4 times, but clearly tonight the knights where expecting them, and I'd guess teams will more and more the more we do it.

We cant kick goals, we have tolman still running it on on 4th tackle, we had mbye in the side, but short dropouts is an issue??

I love it ... only thing is Id mix it up here and there. But the logic behind it makes sense.

I love how obvious they make it look lol. Moses looks to his right about 3 times while the right edge looks towards him. We really need to mix it up a little.
