Forwards are not good enough. Bottom line. They get dominated which is why the backs can't get quality ball. Kikau is a wide out backrower and needs the props to be smashing up the field to create space for him. We need some marquee props. Curran, Preston... those blokes are good. But theyre not gonna dominate teams like Brisbane and manly. Then you bring on guys like kurtis morrin off the bench. He's a lovely guy, but he couldn't knock the froth off a cappuccino. The guy is smaller than most sg ball players. No impact. No size. No intimidation. Where's the dogs of war, willie mason, o'meley, sbw, price, asotasi, Ryan. Then we had pritchard, kasiano and Graham. That's the template. We keep buying fringe powder puff forwards
Fringe forwards are all that are on the market. The big units are locked up in long term contracts, and no side is going to let them go to another club.
We just have to identify the promising young ones, and bring them up through our ranks - that is what we are doing.
Despite the fact that we are in our usual position - last on the table with the worst for and against, I still see something in this team that leads me to think we will come good.
We have our usual start to the season where we seem to come up against top eight sides that are fresh and ready for another big year. Not for us, the Tigers in round one, or some other team where we could get our plays working.
It's always the biggest well drilled sides at the start of every season. They knock us around, and leave the side depleted and disordered.
The NRL tell us that the draw is random, yet we always get the same tough draw every year, while the top sides hone their skills against bottom eight teams.
