Let’s be real - we are weak in the halves - Burton though he got involved more tonight can’t finish and he’s not much of a defender either. Hutch tried but he’s too slow. Taffe tried but too many mistakes. We were in it at half time and we gassed ourselves from having to defend too much. Knock ons, forward passes, are these the refs fault? We need some serious naval gazing and probably some rotation - Fox back next week I’d try Tracey at 1. Kiraz was pretty good tonight so although I wouldn’t mind seeing Xerri in he’ll have to wait. Sexton should be 7. The real question is if Ciro will make those calls and when. In the sober light of day most fans will see this and not make ridiculous claims of systemic cheating or the club folding.

I witnessed daylight robbery today ..by the rorted refs and people are still hating on Burton. Burton’s not a five eighth. Burton to centre. Burton out.. fmd wake up. He’s the least of our fucking problems. He was actually threatening unlike our 7 and 1.

Even if we had a better 6, 7, 1 and an alpha prop it wouldn’t matter when we get jokes of decisions against us. Kikau is over the damned tryline and the ref gets in the way and we have it taken away. Who’s seen that ever before?!

How about a penalty to sharts for escort, none for us in a similar situation. Sharts get a penalty for Critta putting a hand on a player in the air, same thing happens to Taaffe. No penalty. Kiks is penalised for a high shot. Nowhere near high contact.

YES we need to be better but for the love of God any team that has to play 14 men is on a hiding to nothing. These corrupt ***** will get their way because how are you supposed to support your team when this shit happens all the time? Clear cut decisions that one team got and the other didn’t. Oh and you know Sharts didn’t knock on in that try that got them on a roll… noooo.

Seriously, we went to Shart park for their first home game and were in the fight up until 55 minutes and after losing a prop in the first hitup! We did remarkably well considering that and all the calls going against us.

Still, we can be much better (players and coach) and not let refs decide the result. Taaffe and Hutch have to go. They’re just too weak and don’t offer much. Critta needs to go to fullback and get involved more and Tracey can play centre. He was very good. Never looked out of puff like most others and got through a heap of work. Xerri has to come in sooner or later because we simply don’t have enough powerful players. I like Wilson but don’t think he’s good enough.

My back 7 would be Critta, JAC, Tracey, Xerri, Kiraz, Burton, Sexton.

I stopped at Burton was threatening.

Well said, we seem to have no luck with anything… we’re so accustomed now to copping sh!t that it’s just expected. Agree, Burton is a centre, it’s taken me a while to succumb to this fact but it’s clearer than ever.

We were in the fight, but ultimately, we’re not big or powerful enough and our halves aren’t generating anything…spine is yet another issue for us on top of the struggle for good go forward.

Anyone else think Taafe captain challenge actually hit sharks arm first too?? So many decisions tonight, we didn’t get one. Kikau high shot on Kennedy WTF was that. It wasn’t even shoulder height. Yet he missed a shoulder charge to the head fuck up. Crighton pinned for tackle in air, barely touches him, yet Taafe gets taken out in air, Ramien not even looking at ball no penalty.

We don't have a 7.. that's what a 6 role is.. everyone wants him to be both. It's a bit unfair. Yes he has been shit, but tonight he threatened and did really good things... Burton, kiks and Mahoney all went well and they've been relentlessly bashed on here including by me, but tonight they stood up.

Mate they expect him to be Wally frickin Lewis. He can’t win with the clowns. He has old man Hutch spluttering around on the opposite side and Taffe offering very little help in attack. But it’s all on Burton’s shoulders to them.

Cronulla had all the luck, we couldn’t buy any, but, we defended really well so there’s definitely a some positive to draw from…in saying that, we can’t beat the top brass without decent middles, some power runners and some raw aggression… Hughes is the only middle capable of bending the line and there’s no one outside of Skelton with explosive power.

The blueprint is clearly to wait for these young blokes to turn into men and in the meantime, try and be competitive…

Hughes needs more consistent involvement. 2 minutes at the end of the first half and again 2 minutes at end of second half.
Solid 20 minutes on n second half. But no ball.
