Being able to run and actually being able to contribute at a competent level in the NRL are worlds apart. We’ve been training for ages now, he’s at least 2 months behind schedule and that’s if nothing else pops up for him
I think people need to stop putting Patolo into their calculations because he's yet to consistently prove he is up to FG level or can stay healthy.

Hopefully for his sake he has some luck with injuries and can get consistent minutes in Reserves for a few months. Which is what he needs after so much time out..

So what Preston didn't "prove he is up to FG level or can stay healthy" before last season.
Neither did Kiraz the season before.

Preston was one of the best players in NSW Cup for a full season and was highly rated. Patolo has yet to play consistently in any grade due to injuries and that's been over the last three seasons. So there is no comparison.

I remember watching a podcast where Preston said he signed with the dogs after 1 or 2 reserve grade games.

What? RU signed him 2 years ago.
The myth goes that the Chooks never loose a player they want to keep, well they lost him, signed with someone else while he was on contract.

They signed him for when his Roosters contract finishes. The Roosters aren't releasing him.

Been 24 hours since his release, you'd think the club would have updated the team list.

Got word from a mate at training just now, Patolo started running... hopefully can get upto speed pretty soon.

Confident Morrin, Edwards, Poasa and Salmon can hold fort until the bigger bodies are ready.
“Holding the fort until patolo returns” lol patolo isnt even close to a proven first grader. Appreciate the updates thou im curious do u and ur mate have some sort of roster system to make sure one of u have eyes on the field sessions at all times?

There’s always options .. watch this space !
What are you hearing mate? Big body? A Gun? Solid FGer looking for game time? A potential plodder? I have a feeling you’ve heard something ;)

@04 Dreaming We are easily paying at least half. The biggest winner in all this is RFM. He's got his full contract, he's at a club that will appreciate him and he's away from toxic fans hating on him within his own club. RFM won this all along. They couldn't get him on any breach notices that could result in termination of contract or golden handshake. He got a full payout.

Gould re-signed him for 3yrs in 2022 he gets all the money.
Yep, you played your cards well Ray.
anyway, best of luck and hope you can average more that 11 games a season at the Dragons

Exactly, and the chances are high that we will. The process of finding the diamonds means you inevitably dig up some deadwood as well, that's fine, it is part of the process. People who are complaining that Gus has brought in some deadwood aren't living in reality. The only way to not sign anyone who ends up underperforming is to not sign anyone at all. Good luck with that strategy.
What's the saying, let the cream rise to the top?

A big body, gun, solid FGer, plodder. He just plods and plods, with 4-5 players on his back, usually requiring a 6th to stop him, plod, plod, plod making 15-20 metres per hit up. In defense he plods too, however his positional play is perfect.

Gus tweeted Zac Montgomery left the club before Christmas & he is still shown on the photo/profile page.
