Only difference is that religion has been around a lot longer than any system of Government. I don’t discriminate against anyone’s religion or belief system but I won’t have those beliefs shoved down my throat, especially when they’re shrouded in Lies and Hypocrisy. Extremism in any form whether it be political or religious is dangerous and has done more harm than good to Humanity. IMO. I will meet my maker with clear eyes and an open heart knowing I have done my best to be a decent human being and not because I was scared of the consequences of the way I lived my life.

When it comes to war, I don't blame the religion. I always see it as using Religion as a tool. And unfortunately it's a tool that works too well.

Ukraine is a good example. Putin carries out an invasion of Ukraine. He does this with the support of the Russian Orthodox Church. The leader of the Russian Orthodox Church even called it a "Holy Crusade against the depravity of the West". Those kind of comments are the reason the Russian public support the conflict.

Religion isn't to blame for war. But religious tribalism often helps tyrants. Without the religious support, the wars would lose support. When the people don't support the war, the war can't go on.

Their is an element of truth in what you said about Putin's invasion of the Ukraine, since he claimed that Ukraine was heading down the road of moral decay like the US, but he is only using it to cover up his own failure, which is probably the reason why their Orthodox Bishop backed him.
At the end of the day Putins history, KGB etc, tells me that he is an arch Russian nationalist, and is trying re-build the grand old Soviet Union
Sorry but your wrong in saying that religion is prolonging that war, because even in Russia 95% of the people don't take much notice of their Church leaders, when it comes to politics.

Have you forgotten that you said that religion has ruined humanity. I grant you that some people who were brought up religious have gone bad. BTW If you do a little homework, you will find that virtually all of them turned off religion and worshiping God before going bad.
Also by saying what you said you have conviently ignored that religion has inspired a lot of people who have made incredable sacrafices for GOD and mankind.

Sorry hacky you are not quite right, but I guess you are just pushing your barrow, If you survey Australians (of the European variety) most would say that they are Christians, I would bet that overall not much more than 5-6 % would have a real (not serious) relationship with their Church and JESUS. With Catholics only about 10-12% attend Mass. The reason being that secularism take priority over spiritulism, when you're caught up and surronded by LOW MORALS, (divorce marital affairs). GREED (The need to keep up with the Jones, etc). PAGANISM ( indulging in Pornogorohy, Mardy Graph etc). People should not claim that you belong to any Christian Demonation, (at least not Catholic), if they accept and indulge in those types of practices.
When it comes to war by far most people prioritise Nationalism over (God==Religion). At the begining Russians were told that they were De Nazifing the Ukrane, (whatever that meant) and they went along with Putin believing that it was going to be an easy take over, because they were similiar people.
What happens then, is that the Americans and Europeans supprt the Ukarne, and the old cold war is revived all over again.

It's very possible that the Christians in Russia don't attend church en masse, but do you really think that if the head of the largest Church in Russia cut support for Putin, it would have no impact?

To many Religious leaders are afraid of losing their numbers, so they go along with the flow, which is generally always influenced by the media.
I'm fairly certain that the Head of the Russian Church would have done his homework, re public opinion. He "may" have been able to keep quite, but if he spoke up against Putin mmmmmm.

I work with a Religious group 30--40 hours visiting and doing things for the poor and the sick etc. "WHAT DO YOU DO."
I don't know how you came to the conclusion that Religion has ruined humanity. I do know that many Gays have turned their hate on Religion because most Religions frown on same sex unions with some strongly opposing the it. I guess gays want the Churches to agree with their sexual practices because it will make them feel that their practice is acceptable God, how stupid are they.
