Why the hell did the club release the players’ names to the media? What a disgrace
You must be new to the current world haha.
This is the new norm, when people who are against the the political lefts agendas they’re shamed and cancelled. It’s pathetic but very effective. I believe cancel culture is the term currently used for it.

I get the feeling the abcd community didnt even ask for this

Looks like Manly were searching for a way to make a quick buck and it has totally backfired on them

Look at the dickheads throwing these 7 players under the bus.....

What a shambles that club is

Good result in the end. The players have stepped down for the round and Manly respected that. Same thing happened in the women's AFL when a Muslim woman refused to play. Media tried to beat it up and cause conflict so she released a statement saying that she has the utmost respect for LGBTQI members but that she couldn't play due to her religion, and that was the end of it.

These guys won't play because of their religion and Manly accepted that. Problem solved.

How is this a good result lmfao. It never should have got to that point. People should still be able to play if they don’t wanna wear different shades of colours for an ideology ffs in a fucking sport lol

I like the way the AFL handles it. They have a single round for it, and everyone gets to buy a new Guernsey. Sure it's mainly a cash grab, but it provides inclusion and any player that doesn't want to play, sits the round out.

Lollll why does a political ideology need to be in the game? And by them having to sit out actually shows a lack of inclusion, you’re literally excluding those with different political and religious beliefs.

But they can't wear a different jersey than the rest of the team, and the team can't back down now after they brought it out or they'll look like they don't accept LGBTQI anymore, and that will cause even more backlash.

Simple result is, let them sit out. The club still gets their marketing moment and the players don't have to participate. And best of all, they're not Bulldogs players.

It's marketing to the most part. It's an excuse to sell another piece of clothing, and it draws more people to the game. It also supports people who do still yet vilified for being who they are. But mainly it's for marketing purposes.

It should have never to this point of the players standing down, sport needs to be agenda free because going one way over another just alienates fans and causes division.

Ummmmm how is having no thin strips of the ideology on their jersey going to confuse anyone at all???? The other team isn’t looking for the dam rainbow they’ll notice the manly colours either way lmao what sort of an argument is this

The difference is that they are allowed to sit out. If they decided to have a Christian round and some people that you hate decided to sit out, that would also be cool.

Why should someone’s career be at risk or even have to sit out for not wanting to wear as you said stripes of rainbow?
It shouldn’t be the issue it is and the more I think about it the more I agree there should have been some consultation with the players.

As I said, marketing. Is your solution that people shouldn't be allowed to do stuff that makes them money? Do you also criticise when they do indigenous rounds?
