Just putting it out there, do we see a future in which Xerri can surpass Badman Best and the Bulldog's could have the 2 starting centre's for the Blues?
To be honest, on current form I wouldn't even be picking SC for origin 1, I'm not saying he's playing poorly by any means but my origin centres would be Best and Turbo.

I remember first hearing about Xeri. A few people were comparing him to a young Gasnier. I doubted the talk at the time. But after watching him make first grade at Cronulla. I changed my mind. He had the talent. But more importantly he had the will and put in the effort. If he stays injury free he can be the best centre in the comp.

I’m happy we got rid of plodder Averilo for superstar Xeri.

Critta at the moment does make origin, and its not because of team results, he is obviously hampered. Apparent quad injury for a large part of the preseason, a few times has had a bung ankle or lower leg during games. And I think it was against melbourne tried to chase someone down and he wasnt in quick sand, he was literally chained down. He is a champion player through and I am sure will come good, just like the fox did (didnt it take the fox 5-6 weeks to score his first try for us?) Now he is 30 trys in 40 games.......

Why go to the effort to reply that?
don’t feel like you are cool attacking someone on the internet. You little pleb
Not really, just matching your quality comment.

He's gone and what you wrote has been said a million times over.

And if you think that post was an attack then you need to get outside more champ

Averilo isn't a plodder. I think his biggest failing is that he's got a healthy dose of fear.

He's a relatively small player in a sport that specialises in finding 100kg (or thereabouts) athletes for most positions. He's got the athleticism and instinct to be incredible. But the moments of hesitation that fear can cause and a proclivity to avoid heavy contact when he can, means it's preventing him from reaching his potential.

He's probably with a coach that can eventually drum the fear out of him in time. I'd have been happy with him as depth this year. But small chance IMO that he'd push into the starting team to begin this year. And I think some of the players coming through might surpass him. Xerri, Kiraz and Chrichton would've kept out of the centres. Tracey and Taaffe are both braver in kick defence and of similar quality in attack to hold him out of the 1. I don't think he was going to jump ahead of the halves or Mahoney either. So unless his immediate future was in reserves, he was going have to migrate into the forwards.

So I'm happier with Xerri over Averilo. But he's not a dud. Just needs to overcome ge fear and play with a bit more commitment, less self preservation.

You’d like to think Wayne can coach that out of him but I think if you’re playing a contact sport and still have a fear of contact at age 23 thats a massive problem.

Which Gasnier? Mark or his immortal uncle? Xerri has more explosive acceleration than Mark
