well i hope not. his contract should read 400k, 500k and then 600k with bonuses and if he meets bench marks. still untested.

I havent seen Moses single handedly lead us to victory or do something spectacular to warrant that type of contract. He probably has the talent but has not shown it in FG.

Moses Mbye has secured the richest contract for a rookie in NRL history, with the Maroons hopeful pledging his future to Canterbury in a massive deal worth $3 million.

The Courier-Mail can reveal Mbye will remain at the Bulldogs until the end of 2020 after agreeing to a four-year extension worth a staggering $750,000 a season.

At the same age, Johnathan Thurston was paid $220,000 by the Cowboys — meaning Mbye stands to earn more than triple that of his childhood hero at parallel stages of their careers.

Storm coach Craig Bellamy was keen to sign Mbye and the Bulldogs playmaker made a secret trip south over summer to inspect the Melbourne set-up.

But Canterbury have staved off the Storm’s poaching attempt after Mbye committed to the club long-term by signing a Memorandum of Understanding.

Great deal for all parties, especially with the cap increasing for next couple of years

Johnathan Thurston is a mistake that continually haunts us every time he take the field and Mbye keeps reaping the benefits. Glad to see that his contract situation has been settled. IMO we payed overs for some one who "supposedly" loves our club!!!

But wait there's more........ No official signing as yet only a Memorandum of Understanding. Hostage negotiations to continue!!!

Geez this is a big gamble, a lot of money for an unproven half.

Also for a halfback or five eight the market price is higher compared to other positions and sounds like we had a bidding war with Melbourne

So does that mean Jackson & Klemmer are worth $1.5m a year each?

Arguably the best player last year, RTS, is on a reported 800k a year. Either warriors got a bargain, we paid overs, or a bit of both which is most likely.
