Ricky won’t leave the Raiders, they are playing too well at the moment. Don’t forget when he started coaching The Eels, the moment a position came up as coach of his is team - he asked for a release so he could go home to his old club. Their form at the moment is great too so why would he want to leave? We would end up having to pay overs like when Des Hasler came to our club.

I just think Gus will have to go way big here bro. There are too many issues to just swap coach and hope for the best for mine. There is some great young talent that needs to be nutured and some gun players coming next year. We need a shit hot strength and conditioning coach and a head coach with some really strong assistants around him. I’m hoping the delay is Gus getting all his ducks in a row and stacking the chips in our favour.

You’d also like a young up and comer as NSW cup coach to form part of the succession plan. We have to do this properly and I think that’s what the hold up is a lot of planning in the back ground.
