The $200k (if thats the number) is a pro rata on the yearly fee. And if the broncs have some cap left over - fair play.TPJ going to the panthers was a rort too but adding a spine player is just fkn bullshit. The team value will be well over the cap
Not that we are aware.Yes I'm aware of the scenario. But signing with 2 different clubs on the same day, I don't think it's been done before?
To add a million dollar player to a squad late is a bad look. Within the rules but the rules are cookedThe $200k (if thats the number) is a pro rata on the yearly fee. And if the broncs have some cap left over - fair play.
I agree - dumb rule. But complaining just coz its a spine player - thats just a whinge.
Exactly, then you’ll be salty. There are some salty people. Lol
If it was your club that signed him, you would be so happy about it
Tell uou what,Ben Hunt has played his last game for St George. He will play at the Brisbane Broncos for the rest of year hooker then go to the Gold Coast Titans for two years from 2024
The fact Broncs won the spoon that year was crazy they had a top 4 roster, not really fair to compare. We just havnt been able to recruit enough forwards. We never replaced CHN, we never replaced Vaughn and havnt replaced JJ. Everyone knows we need forwards just arnt any. That being said we need to find at least 1 rep quality one from somewhere like England and another 2 developing forwards like Sele and Blacker if 24 is going to be better. By 25 hopefully Booth, Damon Marshal and Seve will be ready for NRL so that will help.In two years broncos have gone from last to contend a comp.
While the doggies are still stuck in quick sand .
We need a coach that can be tough and I hope Cameron can be that man.
2023 wasn’t meant to be and we had a tough run with outs.
2024 needs really to be a mission statement of improvement into the 8.
Need to really get a more solid 1 and 7.
Then at least three solid forwards
The NrL play favs with Broncos, Souffs, Chooks, Storm, Panthers especiallyDogs is nowhere near cap value. You have multiple international and SOO players already and bring in a million dollar a year player. It’s fkn unfair and a rort
Exactly why I put money on them yesterday to win it this yearTell uou what,
Broncos ability to win the comp this year just went up big time.
They have turned things around very quickly.
They were with us at the bottom of the table a few years ago.
Now look at them.
Yeah given that it can take months to finalise deals with contract extensions it's very suspicious. But I guess that the fact that they've been practicing since they saw that raiders fullback fired for drinking cruisers on his roof while injured (can't recall his name) and having a contract ready for him right after he was sacked. Then after he fucked up by abusing people online, they somehow were lucky enough to have a backup of Ben Barba wanting to break contract with us and leave.Bit of spice added to Broncs V Titans tomorrow?
Amazing how a 2 stage deal like this could be brokered and arranged all by "interested parties" who can't approach the contracted player
NRL works in mysterious ways.
Sa’o uce. There would also be a media outcry to if we were to entice a player to break a contract. The NrL play favs with Broncos, Souffs, Chooks, Storm, Panthers especially
They do what they want
Then there are different set of rules for others
Then there are specific rules for the Dogs
Not being a bitch.Broncos are a destination club and are doing whatever they can to make themselves better and give them the best opportunity to win a premiership. Meanwhile our benchmark in recent years has been win enough games to avoid the spoon. Spot the winner.
How can the nrl not see how ridiculous it is? Sure the broncos should only pay him pro rata but the full freight should apply to their cap.The $200k (if thats the number) is a pro rata on the yearly fee. And if the broncs have some cap left over - fair play.

Pro rata is based on the previous off season aswell which should not be the case as the value of the contract is found in actual game time. Fair enough a contracted multi season deal needs to allow for evenly distributed compensation throughout the off season and season proper alike. How can the nrl not see how ridiculous it is? Surely there’s some compensation for the Dragons, are Saints getting something in exchange? Feel for them, reminds me when our 2004 stars started breaking contracts and leaving the club for Roosters and France, crippled us for a few years. If you get hunt it’s a rort. Having an international player coming into your team and you only need to pay him 200k is a flaw in the cap rules
