I'm pretty sure he still has 6 years left (2027 last contracted year). If he's worth the 1m a year now (debateable) it's very likely he won't be in a few years time from now and the Cowboys would have to chip 200-300k for the next 6 years which I don't see them doing. This is probably why you don't sign players to 10 year deals.

Its right up there with the dumbest contracts in the NRL. Great player no doubt but signing anyone, especially a middle forward for 10 years for that money is wild.

Article by buzz stating him and another player spotted at cafe voicing discontent with coach
True. Would be an epic signing, we'd have the most cash if it were to eventuate. However you could bet your bottom dollar that roosters will get him if that's the case as they will push Cordner, Liu and JWH out and sign him.

I can see him leaving within the next year. Another club will give him a 4-5 year deal on similar money so it's not like he'll lose millions.

Gus and Brown would throw everything at him to get him to the Warriors if he was to leave though.

No thanks LOLLLLL $1mill a season and he still has 5 seasons remaining of that craziness of a contract .. he’s 28 or 29 and while he’s still a weapon taking him for the remaining 5 seasons on that kind of $$$
Is stupidity

Only if the Cows contribute part of it. We'd be crazy not to consider all options.

Cowboys would be crazy to let him go or even pay freight for him. He's still giving good value for money.

If the cows contributed 300-350k of his $1mill then you’d push Josh Jackson down the stairs and medically retire him to make way for JT LOLL
Much better theory.

We need to stop focusing on big name players, and instead focus on our brand of footy.

We didnt get to the 04/12/14 GF's purely off our players, hell 14 proved it. Its our brand of footy that carries us, always.

Yes, of course players matter. But throwing big money at select few players wont fix the problem. We need people with heart. Look at our 14 roster and compare it with any other team, not only did we make the GF, that spine broke the blues draught. Not through pure skill or talent alone.

We are the Bulldogs. Not the Roosters, not the Storm.

The Bulldogs.
