His defence today was awesome.
Has improved heaps.
Has improved heaps.
Mate either you watch your games with white only tv defintion or have NO CLUE. I listened to the match on radio and then watched on fox. All the commentators espeically hadley said how Idris was putting the dogs on the front foot with his runs and offloads he is what started the ride. Idris isnt a good player he is a potential superstar and as every good judge in the NRL has said. Idris is a very very very special talent and defence comes with experienceHis defense was still terrible and he was in a team on fire. Neexxxxttttt
Well said give the kid a go, You all bag KM for not blooding young guys but when he does you all jump on every thing the kid does wrong. What about all the good that he does.played well AGAIN and yet people still bag him out even though he was probably the best player on the field bar hannant
FMD stop bashing the kid he makes some mistakes but overall is a top player
Those defence lapses you point out high light the whole team’s defensive attitude and structure. If we were playing with the right attitude and commitment as a team I have no doubt you would see Jamals defence improve. After watching the replay just now, something honestly has to be done about his defence. Yes, he can put on a couple of big hits per match, but that means absolute squat in the scheme of things.
Last night:
1. Came in on the wrong man who was already marked, which led to Vatuvei making his first break. If he was anywhere near 100%, they would have made plenty more from that break.
2. Came in on the wrong man, forcing Turner to come in on the centre, leaving Vatuvei free to score. 23:30
3. Let his man on the outside, allowing them to make an extended break downfield. They scored their 4th try a few tackles later due to pressure led on by the break. 47:00
4. Let his man on the outside, allowing them to make a 30m break. 70:55
5. Let his man on the outside, allowing them to almost score, but they lost it right on the line. 74:30
Five very significant lapses in defence in the context of the game. To the people saying centres can not lose you games - I seriously suggest you pull your heads out. If you're content with living in hope that his defence will come good, then you can not say a word on Moore's tactics hoping that they will come good.
There have been 3 significant lapses in each game for the past 3 rounds also.
Yes some were mainly his fault, but you can not keep blaming him, the second man plays really do find him out you always see him running and chasing the attacking player, he never has any advantage over them, Turner is always left to defend because of Idris' incorrect readingsAfter watching the replay just now, something honestly has to be done about his defence.
