Kevin Moore in the after match conference said there were defensive problems on the right hand side, but they had been worked on.

He also made mention that Idris is only 19, but needs consistency.

He is still overweight and looks lazy towards the end of the game.

His defense was still terrible and he was in a team on fire. Neexxxxttttt
Mate either you watch your games with white only tv defintion or have NO CLUE. I listened to the match on radio and then watched on fox. All the commentators espeically hadley said how Idris was putting the dogs on the front foot with his runs and offloads he is what started the ride. Idris isnt a good player he is a potential superstar and as every good judge in the NRL has said. Idris is a very very very special talent and defence comes with experience

dont think anyone questioned his attack Habibsta. But clearly, Idris has defensive weaknesses, but the good thing is he is working on them

His hits in this game were monster. With Eastwood gone, he is our hitman in defence.

Two tries and an all round improved defence is gearing him up for a great year hopefully.

idris surprsied me this week. he played very well an did some good things. Let himself down with a poor attempt (if he did attempt) to out leap Anasta that gave the chooks a try.

Like Gus said in the commentary, Idris was rubbish in his effort on the defensive end against the Dragons but improved 1000x yesterday. He showed more commitment and was moving up in defence instead of sitting back, he will take time but needs to learn the position and the only way to do that is do go out there each week and give a 100% effort each time.

One of the few highlights tonight was seeing Jamal drive Dave Taylor back one-on-one and palm him off and he fell to the ground. He also swatted Sutton off like a fly in a run near the end of the match where he plamed off 3 times. It seems someone's gotten in his ear telling him how strong and good a player he is.

Another 3 bad reads in defence, with one leading to a try.

Something has to be done soon. He's fine if you're coming at him straight on, but if they get beside him or have him flat-footed, forget it. He has a tendency to come in on the wrong man at times, forcing Turner to come in on the centre, leaving the winger free. Still no communication.

And don't mention his defense against the Roosters - they were woeful all day and playing catch up football, and even then he made a few easy errors.

Well said give the kid a go, You all bag KM for not blooding young guys but when he does you all jump on every thing the kid does wrong. What about all the good that he does.

After watching the replay just now, something honestly has to be done about his defence. Yes, he can put on a couple of big hits per match, but that means absolute squat in the scheme of things.

Last night:

1. Came in on the wrong man who was already marked, which led to Vatuvei making his first break. If he was anywhere near 100%, they would have made plenty more from that break.

2. Came in on the wrong man, forcing Turner to come in on the centre, leaving Vatuvei free to score. 23:30

3. Let his man on the outside, allowing them to make an extended break downfield. They scored their 4th try a few tackles later due to pressure led on by the break. 47:00

4. Let his man on the outside, allowing them to make a 30m break. 70:55

5. Let his man on the outside, allowing them to almost score, but they lost it right on the line. 74:30

Five very significant lapses in defence in the context of the game. To the people saying centres can not lose you games - I seriously suggest you pull your heads out. If you're content with living in hope that his defence will come good, then you can not say a word on Moore's tactics hoping that they will come good.

There have been 3 significant lapses in each game for the past 3 rounds also.

Those defence lapses you point out high light the whole team’s defensive attitude and structure. If we were playing with the right attitude and commitment as a team I have no doubt you would see Jamals defence improve.

We haven’t played sh*t house because of Jamal.

Yes some were mainly his fault, but you can not keep blaming him, the second man plays really do find him out you always see him running and chasing the attacking player, he never has any advantage over them, Turner is always left to defend because of Idris' incorrect readings

This is like blaming the goal keep for letting in the goal, where was the defence to stop the ball from getting to the goalkeeper?

We can not keep blaming Idris, yes he may be young and a touch inexperienced but he is the best we have at the moment, I think something does need to be done to Idris Turner side of the field as it is letting in to many tries and being found out

If a one legged Manu can rape us down there im scared of a player which has 2 working legs can do *bites nails*

Farah and Benji are going to target that side of the field no doubt we better have our a game
