Looks like Matt Doorey, Tui Katoa, Brandon Wakeham and Joe Stimson are departing. Thank god. The only loss from this year is Paul Vaughan.

I’m gonna miss Joe Stimpson…. Every time I see him run onto the field, it’s like he’s just finished a 12hr drinking session at his local pub!

Bulldogs star Jackson Topine has signed an extension to his current deal at Belmore, ending weeks of speculation.

He confirmed his contract extension after putting in a superb performance for the Dogs in their dramatic 28-26 win over Newtown in the NSW Cup preliminary final, running for 146m and making 27 tackles.

The backrower has impressed in limited first grade action this year, having been called up to the NRL in Round 20, and will hope for more action in 2023.

The fan favourite also won their NSW Cup Player of the Year award on top of picking up the SG Ball gong in 2019 and the Clubman of the Year award.

Topine's one of the best reserve graders in the NRL.

Happy for Topine to be extended. He was still eligible for Flegg this season. Will benefit him in the long run having played a full year of footy in reserves rather then playing 20 mins a week in first grade. The fact he’s stepped up and excelled in Reserve Grade, then impressed in limited minutes in first grade. Hopefully a bench option next year.

Also hoping Makatoa and Tanner get extended.

With the right coach Topine has the ability to be a brilliant player. He's got raw talent and pace which is not something easily taught.
