So let’s say you are a touted up and coming race car driver, you finally get offered an opportunity by a pretty good team to drive in a big race, but you’ve been told, and your aware, that you’ll be driving a pretty average car, one that’s been losing badly, one everyone pretty much knows is not capable of winning the race … but you see this as a good challenge and you get behind the wheel anyway ..
You and the team prepare the car best you can & you get out on the track and you start the race pretty well for the first few laps, then you lose a piston, you adjust and continue driving well, but then your carb starts choking and losing you more power, but you push the car to its capabilities and then the worsts happens, two of your wheels go flat and your whole first race just goes to shit ..
After the race, you say the engines crap, break it down and rebuild it .. and let’s continue to improve ..
Could you still be judged as a very good driver but one that needs to continue building a better engine and better car ?
