Could be a bit zippier but Im happy with the signing, has really been trying to do his part this year.
Yeh, agree with previous point he is the future centre.
I also see him as a viable candidate for captain, always seems to be the first bloke to come up and pick someone up after an error or congratulate a try or a big play. Seems like a decent bloke as well.

Nothing against Hopoate. I think he is a pretty solid player. But, i thought that he wasn't our solution to fullback. we are lacking talent in attack and Hopoate is not the x factor. Mixed feelings about this one. HMM??
This suggests a few things:
- MBYE will not be fb next year, BMOZ will retire on the wing
- the dogs are not planning on buying a "rockstar fullback"
- either Holland and/ or Lichaa will not be re-signed
- who else leaves? Sam kasiano?
- dogs continue to importance defence over attack

Your fullback doesn't have to be your x-factor. There are a lot of teams that don't have fullbacks as their x-factor.
You want your fullback to position well, defend well and be safe under the high ball. Hoppa isn't the flashiest of fullbacks but neither was Patten when we had him. Hoppa engages in attack and usually can bump off a defender or two and create something from time to time. I'm quite happy for him to be in the back as long as he keeps giving his all.

Okay lets keep it simple (or as simple as this forum allows).
Now we have finally got a good (not great just a good, safe, reliable) fullback until the end of the 2020 season.
If something like Divine Intervention fell upon us and we snagged a better one we wuld then have another very good centre until the end of the 2020 season. Can Hoppa play both left and right sides?
