At an increasing pace.
I wonder if it's the old chestnut....reverse psychology.
Lets face it, we have no idea what's going on at training or in sessions behind closed doors.
What if...a few weeks ago, Gus and Ciraldo threw the doors open to the players and had said, ok what do YOU GUYS think we should be doing, how should we structure our attac and defence? Who's a lazy prick and who do you want to play with?
Then the player led team came up with the genius gameplans we've been implementing against Eels and Sharks and Knights.
Then THIS WEEK....Gould and CC said....SEE.....You blokes have no idea.
So what now?.....TRUST THE PROCESS.
Defence is a hard slog. Gotta get numbers in tackles, stop forward momentum, wrap the ball up, D line folding in, tacklers getting to marker quickly and go again. Scrambling is so tiring, much better to hold the line than cover up breaks made as defenders then need to run back 20mtr+ to get back into line. Attitude attitude attitude. Support the guy next to you. The systems built by CC work, they just need to stick to them.
What if we are strong in D this week, against, certainly a bog average Suffs?
Maybe that 66-0 was needed to show the playing group that THEY have no idea and they must follow the Coach.
Hoping as I'm going out there tonight, and expect a win against this ordinary Suffs side, who lets face it, if tonight's Suffs side was the best side Suffs could put on the park, they'd be running 16th/17th.
My concern?
In previous seasons, since Hasler left, we've started the year and not done much until the back end of the year, then played footy and played an attractive entertaining tough style.
This year we started fine, and have now slumped horribly to be worst team in the comp.
How we respond this week I feel will tell us whether Ciraldo still has the respect of the playing group.
Just hope the players respond with the right attitude and put the effort in. Another blow out and collapse today will be catastrophic for club morale and our fans.

He hasn’t done a bad job it’s not all about the results. It’s one of the worst rosters in the nrl across the park. Maybe Bennett or Bellamy could get more out of them but most other nrl coaches would be in the same spot. He’s also a rookie coach in his first year coming to a club that has finished around the bottom for 5 years straight.

In training - idea is to keep simple messages flowing each week Folkes goal was the dogs had to keep the opposition to 16 or less .. Potter was go out and have fun ... CC is defence but ... I have heard Gus say a few times we r young inexperienced team which says to me the message is not being heard up to coach to evaluate whether if the player has received the massage one on one.

I'm not sure CC is hearing what Gus is saying. Gus said at Cronulla match ht all the big fellas are on the bench he was not happy with game management 101. Gus will advise inspire demonstrate but he won't hold yr hand. In Gus mind last week was strike one. Gus didn't want him this year and CC talked his way in Gus should have said no mate not this year but would be worried he he would go elsewhere.

Agreed bit of an overreaction all round. The injury crisis early on jeopardised any chance we had of challenging the 8 or shaping up as a threat this year having to use reserve graders against seasoned first graders was always going to turn out like this. On top of that some players look busted difficult to incorporate a system when your switching players left right and centre there’s been no stability. He has made some rookie like decisions but I don’t think he’s a bad coach will grow into the job this years taught him a lot of lessons will be valuable in years to come.

One thing Ciraldo keeps going back to is staying connected.

To me staying connected says we’re going to face adversity but it doesn’t mean we throw away the work we’ve done. Refocus, stay on the journey and stick together.

It would be so easy for a coach to lose the players and the players to start infighting and wanting out aka Ben Hunt. Players not turning up at events together lack of team bonding aka Dragons a disconnect in the group.

This is the best post today. You are right .

Don’t forget Kiraz has stopped ad lib play and offloads too.

Even burtons bombs have stopped lol

Ciraldo to blame for all
I think a lot of this us due to psychology, especially in sports and parts in life.
This is why so many rookie coaches fail.
When you are on a losing streak or things are not going well, you tend to tighten up.
You feel there is so much to lose, that you do not want to put anything to chance, so stop taking risks because you think you can control everything.
As you said, the team is taking less risks, this is no doubt due to the coach. His lack of confidence is rubbing off on the team.

Remember this is the new bulldogs how many chances do you need to show up and give 100% for the whole 80 minutes, nothing seems to get this team motivated as we have all seen, if we jag a win tonight it won't be by much but I'm not holding my breath because the same players who do fuck all and make constant mistakes are still in the team, I hope I'm wrong!!!
