Golden point is tarnished

Stupid idea that each team gets 1 pt and play for an extra point

Cos then THREE points are awarded out of this game as opposed to TWO

Teams can conspire to have a draw on purpose since they will share 3 pts instead of 2

I still don't understand, could you please explain a little further, whats wrong with 3 points coming out of the match how does that effect anything and why would a team not want to have a draw?

Don't agree with Golden point....you have 80 minutes, decide the result then. Draws were part of the game for how long...? 97-98 years out of 100, and no one complained or asked for Golden Point FFS did they?

If they want the game to go for longer to squeeze out more valuable TV time & more adverti$ement$ (which is what this is really about) why don't they just take time off for kicks....if not for the whole game in the last 10-20mins so that a team coming back at the end of a game get a crack at a comeback and exciting finale to the match....rather than 10mins of one out hit ups to get in position to get a field goal.
Do you think the Parr-Brisbane match on Friday night would have been any more exciting if it went to Golden point....doubt it!
