Newcastle’s Timana Tahu is likely to miss his side’s Round 2 clash with the Sharks after he was today charged by the NRL match review committee with grade 1 contrary conduct.

The charge came out of an incident involving Tahu and Dragons forward Matt Prior in the 55th minute of the Knights golden point loss to the Dragons at Hunter Stadium on Thursday night.

Tahu will miss a week with an early guilty plea.

Bulldogs forward Frank Pritchard was charged with a grade 1 careless high tackle on Panthers winger David Simmons in the 69th minute of their clash at Centrebet Stadium on Saturday night.

Pritchard will miss a week if he takes the early guilty plea.

Penrith's Dayne Weston was also charged by the match review committee for a grade 1 careless high tackle on Bulldogs forward James Graham in the 76th minute of their clash.

Weston will be free to play his side’s Round 2 clash against the Roosters with an early guilty plea

makes no sense
he stands there, the guy falls into it and he gets the same as Weston who aggresively concussed the player with an intentional swinging arm

I read a few times on Twitter that the only person facing suspension was Tahu. Triple M was one of them, but they could be using the DT article as their source

quote NRL.com

"Pritchard's charge only carries a base penalty of 75 points, but the Bulldogs' second-rower has incurred a 50 per cent loading for having a similar charge last season - a high shot on Cronulla five-eighth Wade Graham.

The New Zealand international also has a further 68 carry-over points remaining from that penalty, meaning he will miss this Saturday's clash with the Dragons even with an early guilty plea."
