firefox problem

can anyone help me? last night after my computer crashed whenever i try to run firefox it says

Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system.

i tried restarting computer but kept getting the same error, tried finding it task manager, processes but can't find it. then finally uninstalled the program and installed it again but the error came up again. anyone know what to do? atm using explorer btw

just follow these instructions it will be the lock file i am guessing

this problem can be cured by uninstalling firefox

and installing google chrome

1. Ctrl+Alt+Delete

2. Task Manager

3. Processes tab

4. Click Firefox.exe

5. End Process

6. Re-start Firefox after completed.
