Every signing we've done except for Critta has been released or unsigned by their previous clubs. We are just looking for quick fix upon quick fix signing recycled players. It's a revolving door.
Every single signing that goes anywhere is "released or unsigned" by their previous clubs lol. If you were meaning released or UNWANTED, that would be different (but also wrong).

Ben Barba was the only one left of the 08 spoon squad when we made the GF in 2012. Things can turn around pretty quickly for a team as shown when we bought players in 2001 and 2009 but the difference between those signings and today is experience. We signed Tricky Trindal in 01 and Noddy in 09. That's why I think signing of Critta is the most important.

Does nobody seriously see a problem with such a burn rate?
Seriously?
With no development of players how exactly will we ever be anything other than an also ran finishing 14th to 17th?
How does one instill a Bulldogs culture or spirit if nobody lasts longer than 2 to 3 years?
Turnover burns culture. We don't have a next man up culture like Penrith. We buy the replacement.
Fans don't become rusted on if the faces keep changing.
Don't expect players to do anything more than turn up and play fair, to hold their hand out & collect their paycheque.
So called Bulldog culture is DEAD.
Yeh ok, not at all ideal. Certainly any new recruits will come to a Club/team that has no culture base to adopt, except perhaps a long ago (forgotten?) Dogs of War culture from way back in the 80/90’s.
However since this junior base of “Dogs” talent, was dismantled by previous coaches/management, Gus had to start somewhere.

Essentially to buy some time for 3-4 years to foster the junior pathways, in the meantime buy what talent he could, until these juniors started to filter through. During 2024-26 I think we will start to see this culture build again.

This is the clear-out that was needed. The recruitment has really exceeded what we could have expected. Ciraldos relationship has no doubt influenced the players that have come and expedited rebuilding. Structure around juniors going by results has improved dramatically. Interested to see the cards unfold over our forward pack this year. We have King im holding out for an Ace to come.

Peter Moore saw what was happening in 1989 and made the changes to rebuild our culture and mentality.

Turnover happens for a reason as they weren't good for club culture. Alot of this is evident in the fact that alot of the guys we have decided against extending over the years have retired due to no other offers, or have moved to SL. Culture is built by winning simple as that

Problem is your focus is only on first grade ..

You can’t continue to buy who you want & try to win a premiership … to much competition from the clubs on top, and even if you do you end up like Parra … a team full of champions but not a Champion team.

If you want premierships and sustained success, the type Gould understands and is building, that comes from real passion, players that love and bleed for the club because you’ve helped build their dream & future with them ..

Most being bought for first grade are fill ins till the junior funnels bare fruit, that’s why you don’t understand what’s going on, to busy looking at the now & small picture …

He didn't say every player is dead wood. Nor was every player we let go. Some of you really need to learn to read. And to think.
Curran wasn't wanted by his former club. He was a bench player. They happily released him so they could sign a better player.

I'm gonna give Gus and Ciro a go and see how they go. Still hopefully the man mountain Sammy Hughes can single handedly drag our pack to premiership glory.... but yeah, I think what most people are forgetting is typically a rebuild involves signing players in key positions, not just releasing them.

I still have us in the top four this year, though. Gus is indisputably a genius and will find a way. even if he has to pull on a jersey and eat the metres, himself.

Let's gooo

By his own admission on the podcast his form has been poor and admitted the warriors had no plans for him other than a 20 minute benchie at best. I dont mind curran but how the majority of our fan base has reached the conclusion that he is a massive signing and solution to our middle woes just defys all logic
