Where are all these 6,7 &13s playing. Burton, Sexton, Taffe, Hutchinson, BBO, KO, O'Neill, Edwards & Morrin (Not top 30 yet), Salmon, Mann. Something smells off...Is Rajab leaving and what about the other young 7 who played for Scotland. I don't like all these signings. Burton is the only regular starter at NRL level amongst them and he has had a very disappointing season.

He can be a decent utility and has a reasonable kicking game. We picked him up out of Super League as a no name low cost player.

The game he played at centre this year was embarrassing for the big fella. Turning circle of the Titanic.
I think he has been bought in for mentoring and professionalism.

We are giving away a lot of weight next season. Makes no sense having so many utilities and small forwards. Very strange times indeed.

He played nsw u 20's two years in a row, one as captain and also played junior kangaroos before going to super league. I wouldn't say he had the pedigree of a no name player.

The knock on our recruitment for next year on this page is as embarrassing as the newscorp journos we all bash.

You can’t fucking sign players that ain’t out there. It’s a terrible buyer market given the increase in the cap and therefore the ability of clubs to keep anyone decent.

But it’s still 6 months til next year and I’m pretty sure Gus will do whatever is possible.

In the meantime I think any dipshit bagging out recruitment for next year should be giving examples of other clubs who have done better for 2024 so far.

- Luke Brooks on $800k
- Jack Wighton on $800k to play centre
- Kyle Flanagan on free board with his dad to the dragons

We could go all in for Josh Schuster at $850k to get him away from Manly. The discussions between paying freight and paying “freight” to get him to Belmore would need to be clear though

I don’t like the signing, but Gould is clearly buying experienced, available, NRL footballers - underlining available.

These players may not set the world alight, but they are NRL battle hardened, they come from good systems, they’ll maintain and set new standards as well as teach our young blokes….

We won’t be able to see it now, but they’re influence over the next 2x seasons will help our rebuild and place us in good stead

I don't like this argument personally. We had since last November to sign players for 2024. If we wait until the end of next year to sign players for 2025 it'll be the same outcome. You have to be 1 year ahead in roster management and I know Gus knows this because he's said so himself. Maybe we missed out on a lot of other players.

You think that they didn’t know we could sign players for next year from November mate ?

Cmon, you are smarter than that.

My point was that even from November 2022 there was not much out there for 2024.

Hence the signings I named.

I just dont understand this signing since Mann, Hutchinson and Salmon are all d same player? Even Taafe is super similar.

Do any of deez guys play hooker well? I can see d need for one of deez as specialist backup if Mahoney goes down as we have no one in top 30 who is hooker.
