If props are so hard to come by should the club have signed bigger yardage backs to at least help. Not only do we have a small forward pack but some of the lightweight backs the club has tried doesn’t help. Perham and now Taffee case in point. Tracey might be good but is also light. Fox is a great finisher but light.

The problem is we can't sign anyone for this year, and our juniors are still developing.

What we can fix now though is the coaching. Players needs to be improving not regressing.

I think we should be lining up Michael Maguire for 2025. If we are 1 win for 10 games in a couple of months, punt Ciraldo, let the interim coach run it for the rest of the year and start 2025 with a fresh approach.

Most importantly, no more Penrith imports, we need our own culture not Ciraldo's attempted duplication of Penrith's attack and defence.
Totally agree, Kikau and Critta celebrating after that try with a gloried handshake gang sign was total cringe.

I noticed Brian To’o was at the game with his new baby in a dogs jersey. We will probably buy him next the way things are going.

I’m sorry but I’m not a fan of Richie but agree. Gus has had ample time to recruit forwards. They wouldn’t be stupid enough to think we have a forward pack to compete with any grade teams. Hell even some nsw cup teams have a bigger forward pack then us. It’s bullshit to think we are so light up front and signed players we actually really didn’t need. Depth players fair enough but most of these utilities were promised a starting spot in the side hence why they signed and it shouldn’t have come to that.
We got monstered up the middle and yet to see a genuine halves combo that actually works for years. If Gus doesn’t recruit any big guns for next year then im prepared to fuck him off alone with ciraldo.
There's very little Props wise available next year. Maybe 3? with May the standout. Slim pickings already.

Who gives a fuck about fox or their journalists. They are the most biassed nrl writers in the game. Its all about who they do and dont have relationships with as to whether the article os positive or negative. In our case its 100% negative and has been for the last decade. I wouldnt piss on them if they were on fire.....let them burn baby.

It just don’t make any sense. Bulldogs greats and fans can remember when the bullfrog always said when you think go got enough forwards go out and buy 2 more. We have Gus who has been a bulldog forever, why haven’t we done that instead of buying a shit load of backs

We've had 3 years of Gould to find one though.
Yeah and in those 3 years we had 1.6 mil tied up in TPJ and Thompson. Signed by Baz before Gus arrived. We had no money for top line middles until this year.

People probably thinking more that what available funds we did have should have been used for props rather than centres, 2nd row?
But who really knows the real dollars and sense situation of it all.

Piece of Shitchie completely forgets we signed Tetevano as well.

We have King and Hughes, Morrin, Knight, Fa'amasuili, Curran, and Suluka-Fifita.

Plus Matavela-Booth coming back from injury soon.

What doesn’t make sense? That Gus tried to buy AFB, May, Taukieaho, amongst other forwards? Rumour also that he was trying to get Taumalolo. Not good enough forwards for you?

The forwards will come. I'm sure of it.
Everyone knows the shortage that exists in the league atm, so clubs have been wrapping up their players early, before they come off contract.
But they've just kicked the can down the road. The ones that kick on, will be on the market in the next couple of years and their current club isn't going to be able to afford them. They're either going to have to let them go or move on one of their experienced forwards.
What we need to do, is improve. Make the club attractive to these guys when they're forced to look.

Long gone are the days of fearsome Bulldogs middles like Peter Kelly, David Gillespie, Peter Tunks and Geoff Robinson – the Dogs of War.
No S#!t Sherlock. It was over three decades ago. We might have had some success and (very) good forwards since 1990.

This "Rocket Surgeon" must have slept through the more recent late 90's/early noughties - Britt, Price, Mason, Asotasi...O'MELEY (and a host of others).

How 'bout the yet more recent teens - Graham, Kasiano, Klemmer, Jackson.

Question: Is a full frontal lobotomy a requirement to be a League "Journalist"?...and how do they hide the scar?

Gould has already stated that the market is slim in that department, so im pretty sure they know what they need.

IMB will be doing well just to get back on the field this year. 2024 almost no chance of top grade I would think. But fingers crossed, maybe.

Chris Patolo looked pretty good in reggies. Kautoga too. With some game time and fitness they could be pressing for NRL if our middles struggle a bit.

Jack Todd was up and down, but might be a show towards the end of the year - still looks to be growing into his frame a bit.
