I would not replace Wilson on the wing. He has speed, a great sidestep, and is not afraid to mix it with the big guys. He is also stronger than he looks,
is safe under the bomb, and can run the ball back from our own line.

Wilson is our next X factor.
Wilson has something most of the team doesn’t have. He has heart, tries hard and is for the most part safe. He is the perfect depth player but isn’t a week in week out NRL level player.

I don’t see much X factor in Wilson either. Also his lack of natural instincts, footy IQ are a mystery to to me. For someone that has clearly played the game his whole life. He either doesn’t know certain rules or just doesn’t think in the moment. Simple things like stretching a foot to put a foot in the in goal to get a 7 tackle set. Or running from dummy half when a marker is clearly not square. He runs along way sideways so they don’t tackle him. Rather than running straight at them to get a penalty. (That being said if got the penalty Burton most likely wouldn’t find touch with kick.)

Need more assistance from our back 5 in our sets if our pack is still this shit next year

1. Critta
2. Kiraz
3. Skelton
4. Xerri
5. Fox

Their main job is to get our sets rolling…

Skelton could become the next Marzhew
Skelton should feel hard done by. Fair enough has a few errors in his game.... But its not like we are a team that is knocking on the door of a premiership. He ran for 195m last game he played for us and it wasnt due to a few big runs, was literally carting the ball up 10 out.

Also what we have in the team isnt really a 22 try a year player either :p they have the same errors he has minus the strong carries and bigger body.

I only have 1 expectation. Its the same one I have every year.
Its to see incremental improvement.

What would you like to see in the offseason and our squad for 2024?

I would like to see;

- Crichton and Burton as centres
- Taaffe FB
- Skelton on wing
- Hooker on the bench (Mahoney cannot play 80)
- Purchase a 5/8
- Purchase 3 props
- Employ a Jiu-Jitsu coach (atleast 4th degree)
- Bring in a specialist coach to work with our spine players

Gus also needs to scale back on some of his other media commitments
They’ve got Alex Prates from Whittakers team training them in Jiu Jitsu - probably one of the most accomplished guys out there.

That shouldn’t be the problem but it still seems like we don’t know how to wrestle in the tackle…

Id move on Fox. Not what we need in a winger.

1. Critta
2. Skelton
3. Xerri
4. Kiraz
5. Wilson

At least we'll start off our sets well

Secure Kikua, Preston, make Chrighton and Xerri comfortable. Do not extend JAC, Sexton, Burton, RFM, Sutton, King, Knight, Thompson, Waddell. Prey that Gus pulls off atleast 3 major signing coups and tell Ciraldo that utilities Salmon, Taffe, Mann, Topine etc do not win premierships.

A proper strength and conditioning coach/program. We are by far the unfittest team in the comp, gassed every game by 60min mark and weak as fuck.
I really thought the strength and conditioning guy from Roosters would sort us out but we are just as unfit as last season …after making consecutive tackles you can see them blowing

Unfit and weak as fk

When DCE scored that runaway try Kikau, Burton, Fox and Perham looked like they were running on quick sand

I agree get rid of the 2023 fox… if we can’t get back the fox we signed from storm next year they need to move him on. Footy seems to be the last thing in his mind these days.

That is the ultimate yardage back 5
And thats what we have been seriously lacking. Fox is great, but he is not what we need.

Our forwards will be crud again next year. We need mass metres first three tackles off a kick return. Or else we'll be struggling for any real field position tbh.

And yes. I understand we need forwards. But there are none on the market

Our biggest issue this year has been Burton and Mahoney

Burton aint a 6 and Mahoney is BUSSSSSTED

We need to move Burton to centre and find a 5/8

We need a second hooker on the bench as Mahoney just cant play the full 80
Agreed and I think we already have our ideal 14 in Flannagan who can cover hooker (to give Reed a rest) / half (injury / HIA). Also like someone's earlier suggestion of trying Xerri in the 2nd row with Preston at 13. Xerri potentially could be like a Nikora sort of player. Also if a back goes down then we can move our forwards around and put Xerri out in the backs.

In a short period of time he is already starting to look like he's been playing 1st grade for some time and seems to have steady head on his shoulders, and doesn't hide when things get difficult. May not be a super talent but I already love his attitude.

Big call and I love the guy but starting to feel that way too as we don't have the team to utilise him. Only concern I have is after losing Averillo's speed next year I think we will need the Fox if we want to score long range tries.
