If Momirovski goes to the Panthers early and the Tigers get Laurie early in return it could help with Burton getting an early release as they would no longer need Burton to fill in for Naden at centre.

I would be happy to see us replace Hopa with Momirovski IF we could get Maika Sivo for our other wing. Imagine having JAC and Sivo as our wingers. Best wingers in the comp by far.

1 Corey Allen
2 JAC
3 Nick Cotric
4 Paul Momirovski
5 Maika Sivo

If it looks unlikely we're getting Brandon Smith I would like to see us sign Daryl Clark with a "lethal" backline of

1 Corey Allan
2 JAC
3 Nick Cotric
4 Katoni Staggs
5 Maika Sivo
Forget Daryl Clark because you’re re-signing JMK or even a minimum wage rookie at hooker with that backline because that’s all the cap room you have left....

First and foremost we have to be careful in how we spent our available cap money taking into consideration the 30 men squad...
Staggs or Crichton are asking for $750 k without TPAs and the Bulldogs will not pay that, mainly because we already have some very expensive backs on the same or just below these figures.
On the positive side, we might have few good surprises coming through now we a better coaching and training squad !
To answer your question, we can only judge players 5 weeks into the season...I reserve my judgement till then !

4 Katoni Staggs ($650 slight upgrade on Hopa at 500-600K)
5 Maika Sivo (550k - like for like swap for DWZ in future)
Bruh you can't even afford that backline in SC/Fantasy :tearsofjoy:

If we shed Hopa (500K - 600K) and Lewis $350k) it would more than pay for Staggs and for Siva yes we would have to find extra dollars (500K) for 2022 but if we shed DWZ for 2023 it would be a like for like swap. DWZ would have to be on 500k or more (fullback money).

We need to shed the players below after this year which will free up a bit (Britt and Crichton were signed as first graders from other clubs, JMK was upgraded so was Lewis). Napa they say is on 650k.

Dean Britt, Christian Crichton, Tyrone Harding, Will Hopoate, Sione Katoa, Tui Katoa, Lachlan Lewis, Jeremy Marshall-King, Nick Meaney, Dylan Napa, James Roumanos, Chris Smith and possibly Jayden Okunbor

Staggs and Sivo are both on under 500k they say currently. Hopa and DWZ and Napa are all above that each. We could definitely afford Momirovski (350K) and Sivo (550K) if we shed Hopa, Napa, and others after this year and Clark wouldn't be that expensive either (maybe 350 - 400k)

Get rid of floppa and get staggs
Viagra can help with that...

Definitely thin in the centres. Hoppa and Cotric this year, with Schoupp getting promoted next year or later this year if we miss out on Burton.
I wouldn’t be surprised if DWZ plays centre if there is an injury and when Okunbur comes back. As bad as that would be

Hopoate isn't on 600k. Our remaining salary cap is going to go towards a hooker and prop. Hopoate, JMK, Meaney and Okunbor are all a real possibility of being retained (mainly as back-ups excluding Hopoate). We also haven't seen Harding, T. Katoa or Roumanos play and C. Smith hasn't put a foot wrong for me and is a decent depth option.

If we start with hoppa and cotric at centres we might have one of the slowest centre pairing in the comp.
Theres no doubting cotric power game and finishing abilities but theres a major question mark over him playing centre. Remember stuart kept cotric on the wing and played rapana ( a 30 something year old has been) at centre)
Also no doubting hoppas skills but at the end of the day both dont have the speed we are after.

Keen for everyones thoughts on this topic. Either way theres no doubt we are thin on centres, you cant rely on shoupp who is not proven and doesnt even have an NRL contract.....

Wingers are supposed to be faster then centers wtf is this shit

For all of you out there suggesting wingers have to be quick obviously dont know much about the game.
These days yoy have two type of wingers -
Fast and agile
Big & strong

Not many with both......

What’s Staggs and Sivo are on now is irrelevant. Sivo’s form really dropped off last season anyway I wouldn’t be paying any where near $550k for him. Clark would want way for than $400k and you have to replace Napa as well as upgrading expiring deals. Staggs or Sivo just aren’t going to happen.

Assuming 1 to 7 have a great year in 2021
1 Allen
2 DWZ
3 Cotric
4 Hopoate
5 Meaney / Okunbor
6 Averillo
7 Flanagan

I could see this contracted 1 to 7 line up in 2022
1 Averillo $300 k / Allen
2 DWZ $750 k
3 Cotric $650 k
4 Allen $450 / Averillo
5 JAC $550
6 Burton $500
7 Flanagan $350 K

The question is,
Can we afford to lose Hopoate's experience / who can we afford to replace Hopoate with ?

Let's not forget we have to replace a position for position to have a balanced 30 men roster !

For sure! I already think we are right on the edge of having a outside back heavy roster now let alone spending anymore big money there.

Bro, it's not a simple as a straight swap and all of a sudden you have X amount of money. Funds are constantly being managed for future seasons and a player like Hoppa leaving doesn't just mean you automatically have his entire wage to play around with. We also need to be prepared for upgrades....if we manage to somehow finish in the 8 then you can sure as shit bet your life that Flanagan will push for a substantial upgrade considering what he is on now and what someone like Burton has signed on for.

I like DWZ but if he is genuinely on 750k, that is criminal!
