LOL as much as grammatical errors kill my life, I'm not gonna get into this. The answer is so plain and simple.

"The crowd GOES wild" would be my pick, seeing as "CROWD" is a singular noun, even though it implies a multitude of people.
"The police RUN after the crooks" because "police" is a plural noun.
With the last one, both are correct. It depends on the context within which they are used.
I agree with the first and second, the third however is an incomplete sentence, it should be "Labor party WIN/WINS the election because the voters are gullible and or stupid" : )

Keep pushing the defence up as required
for that tackle.
Quickly backpedal and remain onside for the
