The Bulldogs are pleased to confirm that the current board of directors will be re elected unopposed at Sundays’ AGM, the first time the Bulldogs Football Club will not contest an election for board positions in 6 years. In a sign of unity and clear support for the future direction of the Bulldogs, Chairman Dr George Peponis said he was delighted that the board could focus on the needs of the Football club.
In another exciting initiative, the Bulldogs will recommend the appointment of a new patron in 2009.
The appointment of Marie Moore as the Clubs first female patron will be formalised at Sundays AGM where she will be appointed to one of the Clubs most prestigious roles.
Marie is the mother of first grade coach Kevin, and wife of the late Peter Bullfrog Moore.
Marie’s strong family values (mother of nine, grandmother of 18), her knowledge of Rugby League and her passion for the Bulldogs has had a profound effect on the Club’s rich history.
While Bullfrog may have been the public face of the Bulldogs during his 26 year reign as Chief Executive, he readily and frequently acknowledged the influence of Marie in every important decision he made.
Since Bullfrog’s passing her involvement in the Club has been constant with son-in-law Steve Folkes as head coach and now son Kevin at the helm.
Marie becomes the first female patron of the Bulldogs and is an inspiring figurehead for the Club’s extensive base of enthusiastic and well informed female fans.
In further good news for the Club, former Bulldogs hooker and great club man Adam Perry will be recommended to the members for life membership.
Perry, who played 230 grade games with the Bulldogs, including 133 in first grade, will be recommended for life membership on Sunday at the Club’s AGM.
A former Clubman of the year, Perry enjoyed a long and successful career at the Bulldogs and is now enjoying life back in the bush as a development officer and is also playing in the country rugby league competition
With an eye on the future recognition of past Bulldogs greats, the board has resolved to only award future life membership once players complete their professional playing careers.
Club stalwarts such as Brent Sherwin (260 grade games) currently playing in the UK, Corey Hughes (262 grade games) currently playing with the Sharks, Matt Utai (192 grade games and more to follow in 2009 for the Bulldogs) will all come into consideration for life membership once they complete their respective professional playing careers.

Great news.

Unity on all parts and not least in the boardroom is what we have been screaming out for, for a while now.

Typing for for was totally wierd..did i punctuate that right by putting a commer in between them?..it seemed like a good idea anyway.

Back to the post, positive news is great news. Well done again to all involved.

9 kids? yes Mrs Moore, credit's where credit's due. Kudos to you!
