Ben Barba is not welcome back. Ben thought he was above the Bulldogs but no player is above the team. That's how we roll..
You know what it's because it was his first season as a great player and thought he was king shit but his been to two clubs now after us and I think it's time for him to come back

Pass. the guy is a walking disaster, only a matter of time before something else happens. He's going to be another one that wasted his talent.

If Hoppa is finding rep form why do we need him?

Elite Bender Crew.

It's been a long time since 2012 when he was killing it for us. His life fell apart shortly afterwards. 6 years on and he's banned from the game and still having random issues popping up.

People would talk about Foran's problems being a risk, times that by 10 I reckon with Barba who has shown zero interest in turning his life around.

Turn on those 2012 youtube clips of him tearing it up for us, pour one out and move on IMO.

No thanks.

If Barba goes on the same cycle he's not due a good year until 2020.....I don't think it's really an issue I highly doubt the club would even give it a thought about having him back.

Nasheed here,

Look, I hate Barba as much as the next guy here, I even saw him at Westfield once and racially slurred him I dislike him that much.

However,
I think we have to really strongly reconsider signing him here.

Ive just been reading Zerotackles analysis of where Barba may end up in the NRL and it looks as if Tigers and dogs are the only strong possibilities at this stage (Add titans dependant on Hayne movements) if Barba was to be the clubs premier fullback.

Given Barbas recent issues, I'd imagine we can pick him up cheaply at around 500k or so. Especially considering Ksiano might be going next year (He is rumoured to not get along with Barba).

Barbas done his best work under Hasler and is the type of player we need at fullback almost to a tee.
Once again its a medium risk signing and a high reward, and one we can fit under the cap.

More importantly, like a sperm to the egg, this is a clear path to a premiership.

A spine like this;

1 Barba
6 Foran
7 Frawley
9 Mbye

With a pack like this;
8 Woods
10 Tolman
11 Jackson
12 Klemmer
13 Graham
14 Elliott

Is a surefire recipe for premiership favouritism, not unlike the 2002 Bulldogs.

No thanks - talent alone is a turn off! Give me substance of your character and Ben Barba has none. He is a snake, dishonest and cunning - does not belong in the Dogs colours ever again.

Two schools of thought with that comment

1 They will both kill it on the field

2 they will both kill it off the field

Actually make that

3 all of the above

Agreed. At least premiership loss aside, we were the club that got the most out of Barba. Barba in 2012 was better than Barba in 2017.
Yeah... but he was younger and faster

To add,
Bens form started to slide when he pt on a bit of weight/muscle.

Goes against what made him great.

I call it the 'Benji Marshall Syndrome'.

Shit I wonder what rugby contracts allow in terms of termination?

It annoys me if he's getting the balance of his $2.5 million contract paid out after 3 months.
