Nash is playing with / testing verification methods to reduce spammers getting through. You wont be banned it may just want u to verify your email address. There are a lot more spammers than most users will see. They dont last long coz we have plenty of mods watching out for it, but prevention is the best cure.

Hi All,

Sorry for the poorly worded alert. It's not @Nash, it's actually my bad on that one.

What we have observed is quite a few members of late have been unable to post, and it seems like they are banned. This can occur also if the user makes changes to their account (username for example).

What is actually happening is the forum now checks daily that email addresses are active, and disables the account if the email is not valid or bounces. Thus the Alert.

It was going to be a banner or thread under Announcements originally, but I don't know how to do them / don't have access to that forum.

If you need it changed, feel free to PM me and I can get it updated on your account.

Spammers used to be shocking on here many moons ago,
At least 3 times a week a marketing scumbag would join and try to post their agendas!
Most of the time they would contribute for 2 or 3 posts, giving regular users the illusion they are real humans.

But they would always sweat by the 4th post and expose their true colours!
I actually blame myself and my younger brother for spam on the Internet!
Before us no one would con people with the promise of free porn!
