Any one do traffic control?

Hye lads.
My brother wants to some traffic control around sydney.

He has his white card and did the traffic control course. He has no experience

Anyone got hookups/connections on how to find jobs?

Most places don't care if you have no experience.. Just get him to call up the companies for whatever road works or traffic control companies he sees working. Or ask someone on site if they know who to contact..

The only thing is most places will expect that you do any shift they suggest early on, and if you don't reply or say no more than once or twice they'll quickly give you the flick..

I've seen Ferrycarig and Traffic Logistics everywhere lately..

D&D are in Sydney. Premier are pretty big and based in Brisbane but have branches in Sydney. Id try to get into one of the larger companies, professional and they get the mega contracts so plenty of ongoing work.

This is true. My cousin's GF walked into this job after moving to Australia and gets paid quite well for it. Guess it helps being hot, blonde and European lol

Pretty much the same in every industry now. I recently applied for job at bhp down here in Wollongong. 2500 applied I got down to the last 20 group after a long process. It was for an afternoon shift crew of 15 people. Even tho I had 15 years experience in that type of work they put on 14 females from all types of work on and one male contractor. 3 months later my mate who works in there tells me 6 of them quit cause they couldn’t handle the conditions. They put on 6 more females without contacting me.

It started because someone worked out girls are less likely to get abused for holding up traffic. They are probably right as well.

Building construction next to our office had traffic chicks working for them for ages and I got to know a few of them. The job has a range of penalty rates associated. It rains, they get a bonus. Too hot? They get a bonus. Not a bad gig.

sometimes traffic control is very dangerous and requires great coordination!
That’s the rare time when you will see men in the zone!

I used to do traffic control.
Sometimes women would slow down to flirt with me and it would piss everyone off.

That’s the only thing I miss about road work or traffic control! lol
