Unless a player is clearly not running towards the ball or clearly deviates to take out a player, there should be no such thing as "escort"

Cody was running backwards towards the drop zone with his eyes on the ball and certainly not the attacker. At no stage does he make any significant direction change to impede the attacker. It's a given that his line will offer protection to his fullback but that's not the point..and it should never be a penalty.
