Stefano, Sims, McLean, Blacker, Whyte and Moeroa potential options, there may be some UK middles also available.
McLean would be a stop gap solution, we need better. Utoikamanu decent but I still think we need better if we want to be taken seriously. The rest aren't worth talking about, not good enough. If we don't land the marquees we aren't making the 8 or being competitive enough.

Yeah, if there's nothing out there, I don't agree with just going out and bringing someone in for the sake of it. You run the risk of signing the wrong player that impacts the culture/team and pushes you back even more.

Really keen to see what happens with RFM. Maybe RFM to Tigers for Twal? Who knows. Good trade for both I guess.

I wouldn't be surprised if 1 or 2 of the signings are "Jacob Preston-esque". I reckon Gus will be backing himself to pick up/unearth another rough diamond. There'll be 1 or 2 hits and maybe 1 or 2 misses, but I'll definitely be surprised if marquee signings are all we see from here.

I love Keon, but I agree with other posters he's an edge specialist and I wasn't overwhelmed by his middle minutes this season. Besides, he's strike out wide and knows how to defend an edge, why move him?

I thought Terrell May was enormous against Melbourne. If he can play like that week in and week out, I'd take him in a heartbeat if we can get him

We need another 3 Preston type signings in the forwards that no one has heard of.

We also need Patolo & Hughes to fire. If those two don’t help the current forwards then they are duds and it should be last chance.

And the odds of us getting all 3 are very slim. The odds of us getting 1 of those players is less than 50% each. We need to be pretty much perfect now.
Are these Vegas odds or BradyK made up ones?

Is Hughes even signed for next year?

Patolo showed so much promise a couple of years ago. If he can tap into any of that promise he could be critical to us challenging for a top 8 spot next year.

TBH though, I think we are still looking at being a bottom half team. regardless of who we bring in. I just want to see a competitive Bulldogs team. That shows up and is at least in every game.

Some on here are saying they don’t want stop gap signings but due to a lack of quality out there. We should be looking at a seasoned veteran like a Jordan McLean to fill a whole while we search for the next middle version of Preston.

It's just common sense. We're competing with their current clubs as well as other clubs in the NRL.

Hughes has resigned for 2024. Not long ago.

I wouldn’t mind Tanner getting another go. But I know the kennel hates him for some reason. I am a big fan though.

He was great in cup. But in the few NRL games he played in 22 and 23 got absolutely monstered. However so did Edwards inn 22 and was a lot better this year. May be worth another go. Seemed to be out of the cup side alot throughout the year as well, so maybe he had some injuries throughout the year as well?

The Penrith Panthers have signed young front-rower Lindsay Smith on a two-year contract extension in the build-up to Friday night’s blockbuster clash with Melbourne Storm.

It is a crucial extension until the end of the 2026 season following Spencer Leniu’s move to the Sydney Roosters next year.

Smith, 23, was already under contract for next season but has been super impressive for the Panthers to earn the longer deal.

:(

only Kolo, Fotuaika and May left now. If those options come off the market we're F'd again.
L Smith would have been a perfect signing.
