gee you did well to get on that set it was like fort knox. a few of my friends were working working on the prequels and told me to come and check out the set, so i go in and didn't get past the guards. but they were having a party at good bar so they said come to that instead. i go to this party and everyone is off their heads, i ended up taking luke's mum back to my place. next day we had a burger at mickey's in paddington then went clothes shopping, never heard from her again after that
Luke's mum in real life? She'd be older than the Queen wouldn't she?

1) walked into a deli in Sydney (late 70's) to buy a sandwich and Jimmy Barnes popped in to buy bread and cheese.
I had recently purchased the 1st Chisel vinyl so I told him how much I enjoyed it - he said 'Good'.

2) and, just for @south of heaven - way back I was at a water themed park on the Gold Coast and we found a spot which just happened to be right next to Ernie Dingo (the real one). Nice bloke - our kids were running riot together.
My mistaken identity Ernie dingo wasn't so nice lol

Back in the day, waaaaay back in the day before Sefton Hotel was a strip joint, it used to have some of the best pub rock in Sydney. INXS were the Wed night pub band. Michael Hutchence grabbed me one time and said “Don’t fight” and I wasn’t, I was trying to break one up.

Bumped into Angry Anderson (when he was angry) coming back from the bar carrying 3 schooners, half of one which ended on him and he said “Do that again and I’ll rip your spleen out.”

Got a bit exited front row at a Cold Chisel gig there and Jimmy Barnes, when he’d drink a bottle of vodka during gigs and had then, leaned back to plant his boot in my face, missed me and got me mate. Then kept singing.

Jimmy’s brother, John Swan could fight, really fight. And he went off one night at a stage invader, who’s mates then hopped on up, and Swanny cleaned then up too. Then kept singing.

And then there was Bo Didley, THE Bo Didley. had a bourbon or ten...? With Bo Didley in the car park, mind you I was one of about 50.

And the funny thing was, my old man always told me Sefton was rough back in his day.

Been lucky enough over time to meet and mix with a few interesting, infamous, influential, famous or my favourite, world class floggers in my travels.

One interesting one was at an Indycar race in Milwaukie in the States. I was working for one of the teams and the race had just finished and I walked down thru the pits to get to “Victory Lane” to see Paul Tracey get his trophy.

As I stood at the entrance this Vespa came toward me and I wondered where he was going as it nudged closer to me. I wasn’t moving as I had a prime pozzy but it kept nudging closer to the point where it was nearly on my foot.

I swung around with a filthy look at this peanut and said “what the fuck are you doing ya dickhead”?

This little man gets off and looks at me with a smile and says.” Youall, one of them ozzies ain’t ya” gave me a wink and walked into victory lane.

This 5 foot nothin bow legged bastard was Paul Newman.:tearsofjoy:

I’ve got some good stories from when it was the Sefton Playhouse but yours are a lot cooler..

Not the best. On the drink at Coogee Bay Hotel. Scott Cam was there, I came in from the side and crashed into his ribs. Text book tackle dropped him to the floor. Bouncers then drop kicked me the f_ck out the door...
I'm fucking jealous!

Met David Attenborough a couple of times after attending his lectures.
Met the Dalai Lama at a lift lobby in Oerlikon, Zurich - was filmed by the local news as we said a brief hello.
Said hello to George Harrison as I passed him in the street, near Trafalgar Square in 1974
Met Richard Roxburgh a few times, when we provided our train for a movie he starred in about Aussie composer Percy Grainger.
Worked with Suzie Elelman for a while when I had a monthly spot on her 2GB program.
Met Bill Bailey as we lined up for interviews at the ABC studios in Pyrmont.
Had dinner with Shaun Micallef a few years ago.

The corgi's would be getting gristle for dinner most nights I'd say.
The Corgis are all gone. Last one passed away a few years ago.

Saw a great photo of her trying to pull a stubborn Corgi out of the Royal Train - the only character who refused to do her bidding.

Talking about tennis reminded me of when I kind of met and totally embarrassed myself in front of Anna Kournikova.

We were pretty young and down in Melbourne for a sporting trip. It was around the Eminem phase and being young dickheads we had bleached our own hair before the trip. We had sat in the sun next to my pool cooking our hair in glad wrap for hours and my head was pretty bloody tender and blistered.

A couple of my mates talked us into going to the Australian Open. I don’t like tennis but reluctantly went after being told Anna K was playing (or looking good trying). I loved her. I sat in the sun on a 40+ for hours with no hat waiting to watch her play and my scalp had started to blister really badly.

That night we decided to check out Crown Casino. After playing roulette for a bit the dealer told us Anna Kournikova was in the high rollers VIP room with her mum. We begged and eventually bribed the dealer to get us in there.

We couldn’t see Anna and played roulette for about 20 minutes until I felt a firm hand on my shoulder. I thought I was about to get thrown out of the high rollers but it was Anna standing there holding chips. She asked me to put her chips on for her because she couldn’t reach.

I did and turned around telling her we had watched her play that day. She was happy and started chatting away until I felt something going on with my head. The blisters on my scalp had started to burst and pus started running down my face.

I looked at Anna as she had a sickened look on her face. I turned around, walked off and just kept walking. I never lived that down. I thought if anywhere fluid would’ve been leaking in my pants :(

Yeah my mate knew one of the construction crew guys..got us passes. So when we Say Luke’s Mum..are we talking about Natalie Portman? And you gave her your Light Saber?
it cost me my girlfriend at the time which was regrettable, the shit thing was that we had a no cheating rule but if we ever hooked up with anyone famous then it was a free pass. it was her rule too, she came up with it
