THE partner of a woman found dead in a western Sydney car park is on the run.
Police are searching for the man after the woman, Leila Alavi, aged in her mid-20s, was found dead inside a car at an underground car park at a shopping centre on Harrow Rd, Auburn, before 10am.
It is believed the woman died from stab wounds.
Homicide detectives were called to the scene to investigate with officers from Flemington Local Area Command.
Cafe owner Zeynep Zabinoglu was one of the last to see the woman alive this morning.
The woman worked nearby the cafe.
“We both got here at 8am and parked our cars.. I said good morning to her and she said good morning and then we both went to work,” she said.
“Then about an hour and a half later I heard the other girls who work there screaming. I called the police and told them to get here as fast as they can.
“It was too late,” she said.
Ms Zabinoglu said she was “a lovely person”.
“She was a beautiful person,” she said. “Really friendly.”
Police said the death is believed to be domestic violence related and are searching for a man who is yet to be located.
Police established a crime scene, which will be examined by detectives and specialist forensic officers.
Investigations are continuing.
