Until we improve the whole system players will not perform to their potential. Imagine that lightning play the ball he had last night with some of our players. They’d still be half asleep probably 30m behind the play. CC has a big job ahead of him.

Do you have to make everything about Burton or Averillo? All you need to do with Kikau is give him early ball in space and let him do the rest. The threat of Kikau running lines on that side will create space for every other player, not just Burton.
If it was that simple there wouldn't be a massive drop in Kikau's attacking output when Luai is missing. Kikau is more brain than brawn compared to his early years, he can run a line, sweep out the back, play into the line, etc...point is he can play various roles and they aren't just as simple as getting early ball and running over people. The decision making and execution from the half inside him (and the rest of the team) needs to be spot on if you want to get real value out of him.

But the half asleep players are moving on, JMK, Stimpson etc

Calling it here first.

He has won his premierships with Penrith and will be using the dogs to fund his retirement. He has nothing more to achieve in the game.

He doesn’t have the gun services of Clearly and Korusau and he is playing with dud centres in a struggling side.

Those 1% plays which make him a gun player will disappear as he will see his teammates are not the superstars he used to play with. He goes from playing outside Yeo to Josh Jackson lmao.

Sorry to burst all of your bubbles but your expectations are going to be busted next year.

If only things were that simple.

Yes. This.

In the last 6 or so seasons, I can't think of a signing player who got better once he arrived.
Hopefully those days are behind us.
We have enough to be mildy competitive, to show some improvement next year.
I believe everything will be dependant on the coaching staff.

The negativity is uncalled for. The most important factor is now we have a great footballing mind making long term decisions while also nailing our recruitment.

Kikau and Mahoney will give the squad a huge boost. The only issue for us is depth. We haven't had the next man up mentality here for some time.
