I am seriously concerned for our club...
Who the fuck is going to want and come play for us when clearly all our coaching structures are terrible and geographically we aren't as appealing as other clubs...
Forget about getting Robson or Brailey they aren't going to want to play behind our powderpuff pack when Roosters and Cowboys are asking for their services.

Knights went through this but lets be honest they aren't out of the hole just yet... and if Cronk doesn't leave Melbourne for love, then Pearce is still at the Roosters and they likely don't have the squad they have now...

Like a lot of people have said we shouldn't expect anything until 2020-2021. The only thing we can do now is keep supporting the club and look forward to potential recruitment if any poor soul is brave enough to take us on.

Paying overs is the end result of that.

And we've seen with other clubs they pay overs for a few players hoping to get the ball rolling and getting more quality players, but that doesn't always happen.

There's too many meh players in our squad that really wouldn't cut it at most other places.

It’s a lose/lose situation.

No gun player is going to come here unless we pay big numbers for them on a long contract.

When that happens you find the player doesn’t give a fuk cos he knows it’s a shithouse team but he’s cashing the cheque’s so who cares.

Honestly it’s going to take about 4 years before we are competitive again.

I wanted to play for the Dogs, but I was pretty ordinary and only managed a couple of seasons for Lakemba before going back to Aussie Rules - so I guess I'm the type of loser the Dogs attract.

In situations like these it all comes down to youth development. You need to bring good youth into our systems, then pay overs for a few gun players, that’s the balance you need to get the club off the ground again. But there is no short term fix.

In fairness everyone was saying that about the Knights and they have done well to attract players...

God help us if we're facing that, wooden spooners 15,16, 17 and bottom half of the table last year. I'm sure they've overpaid for plenty of players, many of them not that great.

...given the fact that we could have had Latrell Mitchel, we could have had Munster just to name a couple, the last 5 years of management at the dogs has been a total fuckup! Just shows how quickly incompetence can rot a club. Raeline Castle and the gang were an epic disaster!

To answer the subject question, they wouldn't.

We can only hope that our renewed emphasis on finding and developing talent locally and from the regions will eventually pay dividends.

This could well be a dark few years for us.

We are severely limited by the Foran deal. How anybody thought giving him 3 years was a good idea is criminal. In fact they should just be banned from rugby league admin permanently.
That deal just shows you how desperate the club was for signings they’d overpay and offer a long deal to a guy who was clearly injury prone and seen better days

We will find it hard to draw elite players. The place stinks.

Especially the players that were not given a chance An walked away to join other clubs.. lattrell mitchel Being one.. hell we even had Adam Keighran, now he’s at the warriors got his chance against us and did an awesome job yesterday!! Just go to show the mistakes made an overlooking talent.!!!

If it wasnt for Ponga and Pearce the rest wouldn't have followed to Newcastle. And even then they paid overs for Ponga at the time for a kid who had played a few Fg games... he could have come and bombed but he didn't and lived up to the hype.

We need to concentrate on our youth and breed the next Mason Sherwin el masri JT asotasi Myles SBW Barba etc etc. Thats our way up..

Even wirh the cash and a new Big name coach, there arent that many superstars off contract this year that could make a massive difference.

To have any effect we need a 2009 type recruitment, JMoz Kimmorley Staggs Eastwood ennis Hannant. Prettt much a new spine and half a new team..
