Who is to blame for the loss?

Yeah.
Morrin had a shocker.
Reed gave away stupid penalties but otherwisw he played very well.
Otherwise some errors by a few players.
We were the better team..
Should have won that game.

Our bench forwards could be way better, Manly's were good, Morrin please no more.
Kiraz good player but errors.
Reed great line speed good hits but cut the rubbish out, and get the ball to Critta more.
Skelton alot of good carries but bombed tries and cost us also.
Sexton where was our 2nd half attack, you also let DCE score off scrum, you want big pay, well win us big games.
Fox you fcken idiot grow up and stop feeling sorry for yourself you overpaid dick.
No Kurt Mann, he is our best half, playing lock.
Last but not least the referee.

I get your list, but what did Morrin do besides one mistake to warrant removing him from th team? He has been consistently giving energy and go forward with good defense all year.

Kiraz has errors - but DCE was timing all his kicks so everything would be contested - it is always a 50/50 in those situations and we should have been doing the same - but we didn't - that is on Sexton and Burton.

No one just inexperience and the ref that’s all hopefully they learn from it and next year they will be even better.

Reed is a big part of this loss - that pathetic kick from 10 out that he has no room for anything… gave em the 7 tackle set (shakes head)
Mahoney defence & enthusiasm great.Stupidity, first in the class. His dumb penalties & errors throughout the season have cost us dearly. Would Bellamy or Bennett have left him on the field? Probably not. He should have been replaced by Hayward even if only long enough for C.C. To let him know in no uncertain terms his stupidity was costing us the game. If Addo- Carr goes, let’s get rid of Mahoney if possible as well. Winning is hard enough without dumb shit that he serves up week after week.

We weren't far of Top 4 this year, and riding in 5th until the last game. Improvement in ladder postion can only be into the top 4. Its an expectation, but may not be a reality. Rorters will struggle to stay top 4 next year. Manly maybe but one or two key injuries will put paid to that. Cronulla possibly again, NQ can if they stay in form defensively.
Not far off this year, but next year is a whole new scenario. If we improve, its a possibility.
A good start to the season will be paramount. Probably need more than 36 points which means at least 1 or 2 extra wins.

I agree. Need to get 2-3 wins in the first 4 rounds next year. Just sets the season off good. We had those wins during the second half of the year we never really threatened for the Top 4. Making the 4 is very crucial.

This.
And its not just Manly....most of the top 8 teams and even some from outside the top 8 have better spines.

You cant win multiple football games without having a good spine. You cant be 1 dimensional in the spine.

Our team, just like 2014, managed to find a way to play well collectively and rely on an even spread of talent, but when the chips were down and a play needed to be made, we just didnt have the x-factor to produce it.

I know we are looking at finding from within, but i feel we will have to unearth players that are top 5 in their respective spine positions to go to the next level.

Can someone please give me Drinkwater or Pappenhuyzen for Christmas......
If Mahoney plays as a team instead of letting his ego take over we would've won and easily

Just a few moments killed us:

  • Burton was run off - clear penalty / sin bin, nothing.
  • Manly score off a forward pass/ double knock-on.
  • Kikau gets a clutch charge down, but a wicked bounce gives it back to Manly.
  • Concede some soft trys - Skelton came off his wing, when he has Critta inside him...
  • The scrum play try, I don't think anyone defends it in reflection.
  • That final play - not closing down the middle and letting Koula run wild.
Reed had a nightmare in his 150th - he had way too many knock-ons or silly penalties which gave Manly valuable field position which they didn't deserve.

I think what will help us next year with the top 4 is not having a slow start to the season. Boys will have had two off seasons together by next year, really won’t be an excuse to go 0-4
Or 1-4 and chase the whole season.

Our 5/8, hooker and fullback were average today. Hard for the rest to make up for it. It can happen sadly they all played poorly the same game

We really could have done with his speed. Didn't look as much of a try threat down the left today.

Ref was shit too they slowed us down all game and were off side every set for 2 or 3 tackles sometimes more, plus the no. of times they took out our catchers mid air and we only got the penalty once we lost the lead and Klein then overturned that one.

That sort of thing shouldn’t be able to be challenged. That ruling is based mainly around interpretation. The ref was right there and called it a penalty. Why does the ref in the bunkers interpretation override the leading referees? It’s fucking ridiculous

yeah i was very confused that we didnt challenge any of the weird calls made against us, especially the mid air tackles and the dropped ball in the ruck. i was quite annoyed to say the least for not putting the reff on the spot with a challenge

We barely challenge anything. Would love to see the stats for captains challenges. I honestly can’t remember the last one we even tried

Regardless, you see him change minds once it looks like kiraz was going to take it, he went from trying to catch it to tackling kiraz

Abysmal call from klein

Don't think any one person is to blame but a couple of things did not go our way. I don't think SALMON should not be at first receiver he is to slow I see a few times in the game the player running onto the ball had to adjust their run so as to not overrun the pass also Critta does not get the ball enough weather this is because he doesn't go looking for it. I think he is a strong ball runner but he's not getting involved enough. Given the game again a few players would do something different but as they say hindsight is great.

Agree on everything you say besides Morrin. Why is everyone saying he had a shocker when he only played 7 minutes? lol Yes he dropped a pass but c'mon not like he was in the game for long enough to judge his performance. I'm actually really surprised he wasn't brought on earlier before Manlys last try when they were looking a little tired and so were we. Kind of went against what we were doing most of the year.

It's funny if JAC was playing he would got to koula. The x2 biggest moments of the game was the try before half time was a forward pass and Kurtis Morrin knock on. But they boys did great so proud of them. They will be better next year. Need to make top 4 to have the premiership chance. Stephen Chrichton is an absolute champion, great leader. Rookie of the year Bailey Hayward for me and Kurt Mann surprised me this year.

It's all Fox fault. Is this **** for real how longs this been going on exactly.

No but he let the team down. If JAC played Kiraz is on the other side and I have no doubt he scores when Skeleton didn't.
No guarantee Kiraz would have finished it… it’s not like it was an easy finish. In any case, you guys getting aggro and pointing fingers achieves nothing.

Fox literally started our recruitment drive. He could have done what many others did and taken a safer option, he didn’t. People make mistakes. He deserves a lot more respect and gratitude for what he did for this club.
